Real Madrid Home ticket details

If the game is a sell out, which it probably will be, the powers that be will give themselves a pat on the back and won't really give too much thought to the people who didn't turn up because they couldn't afford it.

City are now a business in the same mould as Arsenal or United, maximising revenue streams. We are watching one of the best football teams in the world, and it comes with a price.

There are legions of people throughout the country who have given up watching their team because they can't afford to pay for tickets, but the team they used to watch still play in front of packed stadiums.

Lots of people on here are quite rightly moaning about the cost of going to the game, but they will still be putting their hand in their wallet and buying a ticket, and the administrators of the club know that will be the case.

The new deal with Sky, a 70% increase, now means we will soon be reading reports of players earning £300,000 a week, and ticket prices will still be increasing at inflation busting rates.

At the end of the day, it's your money, and in these days of communication, you can watch every game down the pub. I know it's not the same as going to the game, nothing can replicate the atmosphere of a live game, but I know I have my tipping point, and it's not ticket prices, it's the obscene amounts of money those players are earning, and with the new deal with Sky, it's going to get worse.

Its simple, the people who are complaining are the fans that are at the start of being priced out and are concerned. Others who can afford the price believe it is fair in comparison to what others pay. Unfortunately its likely the prices will continue to rise and more people may fall into the bracket of being priced out.

Personally I'm on the borderline of still going but finding it increasingly difficult. For those who say, well don't go out for a weekend and use that money, alot of people have already made these sacrifices.

Its easy for the, i'm alright jack brigade, to criticise others but when they are in the same boat as those complaining now they may understand.

Yes, in comparison to the typical prices paid for these games city are comparative. The problems is all prices are expensive and football may be shooting itself in the foot long term.

Good post.
Eventually all the I'm alright jacks will fade away as prices continues to rise, not city's fault it's just how football is heading and has been for some time.
We wanted a good team, we wanted to win things, so we pay the best wages so in turn we pay more at the gate.thats football I'm afraid. The danger is the stadium will be filled with well off people, the blues who've been there through the hard times will be priced out and the stadium will get quieter and quieter, it's started already.
I'm lucky I can still afford to go but I'm starting to question the justification of spending what I do going to games. Like anyone else any form of downturn in disposable income coupled with even bigger increases and I'll have to ease up. That is the same for most of us, all fans all clubs. Enjoy it whilst we can.

I've never seen City play Real Madrid, so on this occasion I'll pay it, but I won't be paying that much for a group game again unless it's for a similar one off occasion v Barca.

I can't afford this kind of expense on top of the season ticket.

^^THIS^^ most the people who are saying the prices are fine can afford it, the ones that are saying its not are already being priced out.

THIS & THIS.

I'm in a position of having a reasonably paid job and not many more outgoings than my rent and bills (no Kids) so City home and sometimes away is just about affordable. I've had to have a couple of quiet weekends to pay for my busy November etc. However, if the prices continue to rise as they have been then something's got to give eventually.

I said on previous threads on 'expensive' games that you should only go to what you can afford to do.

I have an average job, mortgage and a kid so can't afford a season ticket which is a fact of life, I don't beat myself up about it and I get to as many games as I can.

I don't have sky neither so generally can do a game or two a month. Usually pick the cheaper games, the qpr game cost 45 quid for me and my son which to be honest is fair value.

I was thinking of a champions league game, ajax is cheaper but at 45 quid gonna see city play real madrid, its cheaper than say spurs in the league so can't complain too much . To be honest if the club don't treat this game as a cat A fixture I would have been amazed.

Should be a great game and can't wait for it!

It is not a fiver increase it is a tenner. Family Stand v Ajax is £35, for Madrid it is £45.

I in cup scheme so get a fiver reduction but still tenner.

What gauls me is the 16-21 price is £35.

Dortmund and Ajax was £20 for me.

Now its £30

WTF

I feel ripped off, I thought they would all be the same price, pretty gutted as i'm skint. City have fucked me.

The 16-21 price is a joke. I hope it doesn't sell out, i don't want any game to sell our again.

Why don't the club do what Chelsea do and set the prices before the season starts - <a class="postlink" href="http://www.chelseafc.com/tickets-article/article/2640813/title/ticket-prices-201213" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.chelseafc.com/tickets-articl ... ces-201213</a>

at least you know where you stand then in terms of planning.
