Seemed to sum up the season that. They were dogshit but we couldn't get throug, wrong subs didn't help. Had no penalty takers left. Poor tbh

I get that. And im conscious that im teetering on the edge of madness. But its been a growing feeling for a while. Nothing stands still and as much as i love KDB maybe that tuff decision needs to be made. The king is dead, long live the king and all that…

Alverez sadly is a squad/ bench player at best, been no where near our levels all season but Haaland has been poor also, we could certainly use a 3rd option from the bench in the main strikers role.
Sadly our finishing has been poor all season, cost us home points v Dippers, Spurs etc and again tonight. Just not enough actual scoring threat in the team and we are so awfully bad at set pieces. Did we even work the keeper from any tonight.

I think we have been suffering by playing the line as high as we do. This season we have been much more frantic for reasons unexplained as we insist on being attack, attack, attack. Unfortunately, that means teams sit in, Haaland is man marked all day and all night, the wingers can''t do anything and we are often hit on the counter due to our high line. The spaces are also removed because unless you have David Silva you are closed in on immediately. If you compare this to previous seasons, we would sit on the ball for 5 minutes or so and wait for the team to come onto us and pick them off through lightning speed counter attacks more often than not.

This is the only level headed comment here. I have no respect to this bunch of clowns cursing the penalty takers. They are basically guesses just like rock paper scissors game. It is only bad penalty if the ball was flying out. It is the players doing the 90 min and the extra 30 min to blame for leavening it to absolutely chances, who they don’t want to blame.

Madrid were extremely fucking fortunate to stay in that and win the shootout, even Rudiger fucking slipped and his pen went in of the post!

Referee was fucking awful, falling for their multiple head and face injuries which were non existent.
He pulled back Doku for a flailing accidental brush of the nose when he was breaking away, terrible decision.
Got hit by the ball twice when in our possession, missed a finger tip save over the bar and gave a GK.
Blew for a dead ball when it never went out and we were attacking!

He was very pro RM and gave us nowt.

Just fucking unlucky tonight, that second half and ET was a masterclass in keeping the ball away from a dangerous opponent but we just didn't get the break in getting the goal.

Their goal tonight was after a brilliant reflex save which fell right to the attacker, 2 deflections in the first leg too.

Over 2 legs everything fell for them and nothing for us, just fucking unlucky.

Agree. We’ve not hit the heights of last year but we are still a very capable side and other teams have to give us lots of respect.
 
Anyway I'm out. I came here because I didn't want to sit and listen to the usual morons on TNT bang on about how brilliant RM had been to get through to the semis again, but after reading most of this drivel I wish I'd left the TV on instead.
