The men upstairs have rested on their laurels. They have strained every ounce out of the formidable team with the likes of Walker, Gundo, Kev, Bernie, Stones. And now the chickens are coming home to roost.

Instead of signing stellar players to compliment that squad and introduce them over a period, we find ourselves in this shit state of affairs which now needs a massive overhaul.

Absolute joke how a club that was selling it's club shop to balance the books 20 years ago, propelled itself to the absolute top of European and world football within 18 years, and now finds itself in the state it is in.

Khusanov and Nico have both played in the CL - they aren't untried in the slightest. If Nico didn't have 10 minutes in him, he shouldn't be on the bench. Lewis was on a hiding to nothing and we shouldn't end the game with a midfield of Kovacic, Bernardo and Gundogan.

We should've tried harder for a right back when Walker went, it borders on stupidity not to have a back up in that position. We could have sacrificed the Gonzalez signing for a full back as that was more a priority in my eyes

We did better than I expected.
Shame Grealish got injured. Great ball in leading to the ball and he looked good.

Savinho is decent defensively, tries hard and is good running with the ball. But there’s no end product. I really hope he can improve that.

Kev was constantly chasing down courtois. He’s 34 and can’t run, having him do that job and keeping him on for that long seemed strange. He looked knackered after 40 minutes.

Kovacic is limited as a player. I don’t rate him. He was next to brahim for there second, but he was asleep to the danger and let him get a run on him and get a tap in.

We won’t overturn result. Not with this squad and not at the Bernabeau.
I hope Pep tries something different and gives Khusanov, Marmoush and Nico (if he’s fit) a start.
Let’s just get top 4 then consign this season to the annals of history.

I'm not focusing on Lewis. My beef is with Pep. If he trusts Lewis at right back against Vinicius then he has lost the plot. And if he rates Lewis as a better right back then Kushanov, then why the fuck have we signed him????

Pep's shown himself to be a brilliant manager - the best in the business at managing a squad over the course of a season. But he's never ever been manager to rely upon to get you a result in a must win, one-off game. Never. I lose count of the games thrown away due to Pep moronic decisions.
