Real Madrid Vs Manchester City Post Match Thread

Not sure how to take that performance, even though they had the majority of the 1st half we looked comfortable restricting them to long range efforts granted Joe saved us being 2 nil down and then 2nd half it was like fuck the defending let's just go for it and I agree with Joe we shouldn't be losing a game from 2 1. Vinne looked lost tonight and I don't know if that was because he had a new partner but it wasn't it most convincing game, maicon looked ok first half but tired quickly in the 2nd half, nasty looked calm and composed on the ball, no major mistakes, clichy played well and yaya was brilliant when he got involved.

All in all we went to Madrid and gave them 1 hell of a game, Chins up AMD bring on Dortmund

I think Mourinho outclassed bobby today . In the final minutes of the game Mou "copied" bobby's formation but he did it at the right time . Bobby started Silva and Nasri , Mou kept Ozil and Modric on the bench (RM's equivalent of Silva and Nasri) , Bobby pulled Silva and Nasri out , Mou sent Ozil and Modric in . I hate to say it but Mou is a little more tactical than bobby

Didn't Nasri go off injured?

Yeah but that doesn't change the fact that bobby made a tactical blunder . We were down to ONE creative player and yet he took him out . He shouldn't have taken Silva out or better still he shouldn't have started Silva . We should have played a very tight compact game and then play an open game later on . Also after going 2 -1 up why didn't he order the players back and then throw in someone like Rodwell or Milner to choke up the midfield or Lescott to make it a 5 man defense ?

Maybe Mancini thought taking Silva off would actually help him get a result, even win the game.

Greased agree Garcia whilst he is good in the air he doesnt protect the back 4 like NDJ

De Jong would have charged them down like a man possessed today. He wouldn't have allowed them time to shoot from distance like we kept allowing them to do time and time again.

Bollocks to proud. We were 5 mins away from a "proud" moment, then we fucked it up.

The fact that we were shit 15 years ago doesn't excuse the detailed fuck ups of today.

Because sometimes players who play for the best team in the world score goals that are pretty much unsavable.

This isn't losing to Forest. We lost to Real fucking Madrid. Perspective is absolutely needed.

I thought one of the biggest faults lies with Garcia and Barry tonight, both were poor and didn't do their jobs correctly.

Garcia is new.

Barry played 90 minutes, gave his all. Only player 30 minutes previously this season.

Give the guys a break.
Rammy's right. I thought the cancelled each other out.

If I knew we were going to lose 3-2 before the game I'd have thought "Ok, it's the hardest game of the group, and we've given them a run for it". But to lose when we were 2-1 up on 86 min is a fucking ball wrencher. I feel like I've been bummed by Mighty Joe Young. And of course all the rags came out to wank over Ronaldo to make it even worse, sitting there smugly in their group of ease. No sleep for me tonight now, too pumped up. I'll get my perspective back in a few days when it hurts less, but for now, like Joe, I'm just gonna be moody.
