And what was actually at stake?

Well, 3 points actually in our second term of CL football.

Our Club was pretty much at stake when we were relegated to the third tier of English football.

So yes, get a fucking grip, and a little perspective wouldn't go amiss either.

Bang. Fucking. On.

No it isn't, no matter how dark the days were playing in Division 2 we were there and we came back, great, but now we are a top club aiming for top honours and the mentality has to shift.

What was at stake? a win at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid was at stake. Top of the group was probably at stake, confidence and appeal around the world was at stake because winning at the Bernabeu would have send waves around European football, there was a lot on that game tonight. Never forget Division 2 no but don't bring it up to try and justify poor defending against Madrid when we were winning in the last 5 minutes, it's nonsensical and it's about time some of you actually focused on the actual game instead of trying to justify the loss by talking about Chesterfield, the perspective, we've come a long way, yes we have, but now we're here let's start acting like we're here instead of acting like we were playing at Walsall on sunday.
Fcuking spot on..scandlous to throw away the lead with five mins to go,why oh why didnt vinnie stand tall for trannys goal....

*shakes head*

We've just been beaten by one of the best teams in the world. And we will still qualify. FFS.

Who's mentioned qualifying? I haven't. Yes we were beaten by one of the best teams in the world, but we were 2-1 up with 5 to play and let in 2 soft goals, no ffs about it.

Heres a question is Kompany undroppable?

He has not been at the races all season and yes I know he is our captain but does that allow him to play shit and continually get picked? Maybe getting dropped for a game or two will give him the kick in the arse he needs.

Some of you fucking people. We held our own and scored 2 goals away at the best team in the world and narrowly lost. Yes we could have been better... But not by much. I'm damn fucking proud of how we played in the first game of our second champions league campaign, and the rest of you should be too. Onwards and fucking upwards. Stop fucking melting down and giving those stupid ***** at sad cafe the best read of their lives.

I'm proud too....some absolute fucking goons on here tonight.

It's kids and gloyhunters mate

Classless C***...

Honestly, is there a bigger classless **** in the game??

Sliding on to the pitch on his knees cos he won a GROUP game?!!

And there are City fans that wanted this tw@ in charge of our club.

I would have been MORTIFIED, had that been him managing City!!

Thank fook for Bob.

Re: A Neutral Opinion (for what it's worth)

Couldn't agree more and I think you are absolutely right - this Nasty fellow looks a class act to me - might have unearthed a gem there - I felt confident in him - more confident than when Lescott has the ball.

Also there will be more disappointments like this that is football - U****d had many of these even when winning trophies - that is just the way it is in this game - I remember them getting battered 4-0 at Barca around 1994 and thought they would never win the CL but they did in the end - you can only learn from defeats like this.

That's the most infuriating thing. We weren't outdone in the end by the better team. We were done by a speculative effort at best, and our captain completely and utterly fucking it right up. You see every defender making simple clearances like that week in week out for everybody. It was so, so simple. If he'd sent it out for a throw we probably would have drawn the match and been in the strongest position to qualify from the group.

Bollocks.

No player in the league ha the type of perfection that you are demanding here. He didn't even make a mistake, he just misjudged the flight of a ball by an inch.

This is becoming ridiculous.

We should definitely start slating, I don't know, Barry maybe, for not playing a 60 yard ball for Tevez to run on to.

He was wrong about another thing too. We were outdone by the bette team. However glorious the failure may have been, Madrid were by far the better team. It is only good keeping and poor finishing that have us a sniff. In the first half we hardly kept the ball for more than 3 passes. They were hungrier than us and had we been 3.0 down at half time we couldn't have complained.

However we were better when kolorov came on and more so when Dzeko came on. We played well for 20 minutes of the 90.
