Real Madrid Vs Manchester City Post Match Thread

Thought we did well enough, real are an amazing team, so to compete on the pitch over 90 minutes and could have won, I'm happy.
I could pick holes in our performance, but it's Real Madrid, it was never gonna be easy.
It's the other 2 we need to beat.

We lost 3-2 to Real away. Could have gone either way. I'm pretty ok with the result considering.

when they went behind tonight did anyone notice they became long ball specialists?? they had in my opinion a good midfield that swamped us in the the first half. In the second half we evened up the game. it surprised me to see mourinho aka fat sam allerdyce encouraginging the long ball which did hurt us a bit.

i am ill tonight...we were beaten by a better team but it was the manner of the loss! 2 goals in 4 mins is sickening to the core!

we can gain points off them at home, we will also do well against ajax and dortmund...i feel confident we will progress to the latter stages. i still feel sick tonight though!

i really thought madrid would be better tonight
I feared we'd get battered tonight but we weren't. They weren't as good as I expected and as the game went on we came more and more into it.

I'd still back them to beat us at home to be honest. And Dortmund winning was disappointing too. We can qualify from the group, but the Premiership is the main thing for me. This group is going to really drain us, and could impact us straight away at the weekend when we have a big game

I find it hilarious how people are being told by the happy clappers to 'get some perspective' for basically echoing what Joe Hart said in his post match interview. Someone should let him know that we got beat off Stockport County 11 years ago. I'm sure that'll cheer him right up.

It's this 'we went to the Bernabeu and gave it a go' lot that need some perspective. We are the CHAMPIONS of England, we threw 2 sloppy goals away in the last 5 minutes. Go and ask Yaya if he's proud of that display.
Yeah, but I don't think as Champions of Spain, Real will be happy with conceding the 2 goals City scored either. Remember Real are top seeds in this group, this is only our second season playing at this level and we almost came away with something. Every player and fan can be proud of that.

Which is entirely the point. They are striving for perfection, some of our fans are content with just being on the park with them. It's a poor attitude to have. No-one, imo, should be proud of the way we let that game slip away.

Spot on fans need to change there mentality we were 1-2 up 5 mins to go it wasn't a team of 10 years ago it was a team of top top player there and we should seen it out and I bet thats what Mancini thinks too

some of the comments i have read on the first 4 pages of this thread make me sad. people with over 20,000 posts (who obviously care), writing absolute CRAP

Volume of posts doesn't necessarily equate to intelligence or insight on BM.

It struck me the opening post was partly responsible for the first few pages

A defeat at Madrid, against Real is nothing to be ashamed of and I'm sure if we're all honest we thought that was always more likely that a City win or even a draw.

It's just the manner of the defeat that has annoyed me, to have only to hold on 8 minutes for 3 or even 1 point and come away with nothing is sickening.

I'd like to think the team would play tomorrow if possible, to bounce back. So come sunday I expect all guns blazing.

Re: madrid..imposters

Playing pretty little passes is really not the be all and end all of football. You have to try and exploit teams in every possible way to get the win. If you do that and win then you've done the job right.

I suspect there's a couple of rags posting in this thread now, don't expect to be staying long guys, just waiting the consensus from the other mods. In the meantime I'd suggest clicking the "x" on your blumoon tab, thanks.

I think you are right mate.

Please can someone enlighten me with what Joe has said. I had to leave for work at full time so not heard any of the interviews..Cheers in advance.
Basically joe was gutted, said we shouldn't throw a 2-1 lead away, even against real.
Said he can't take any positives from the game, basically gutted.
