Realistic Transfer Targets

I'd be happy with Benteke, he's proven enough last season, FFS he's only 21 and only been in the Prem one year, how proven does he have to be ?

He scored more goals than any of our strikers at a club with a very young side who narrowly escaped relegation. I'm sure Pellegrini could work wonders with him, and we have Kompany as a fellow Belgian at the club. He showed more last year than any of us have seen from Guidetti, (why not loan Guidetti out to Villa as part of the deal ?)

Then if we can bring in a more experienced forward such as Martinez or Villa, we'd actually be stronger up front than last year, and if we have too many strikers, then sell Dzeko, if he still wants to return to Germany.

Surely these strikers would be realistic targets, they all play in different styles and would reduce the wage bill.

It's all easy to say it on here, but none of these players have been closely linked with any top European clubs, so surely we would have a good chance of signing them if we wanted too ?

#isco has still not signed any contract in #Madrid, and haven`t even passed a Medical, they simply announced him to keep #mcfc away

Perhaps, because the market is not yet open?

It strikes me that, people on here, who continue to mention the name Mario Gomez, know absolutely rock all about the man. He's lazy, most of his goals are lucky tap ins, or go in off his knee, ankle, belly, nipple, arse or cock. I thought we were going forward!? I've said it before, I have the utmost of absolute faith and trust in Txiki and Soriano and I'm sure our club is not looking at such average players. If so, then I'll scratch my arse and sniff my fingers.

Frankly I couldn't care less about how a new striker scores, so long as they are scoring. Personally I think Gomez is the better than Dzeko but there's no point in a replacing Dzeko as it would be the same story all over again as with Edin's first year as with Bundesliga players they have to get used to the more games per season and no winter break.

We're all entitled to our opinion on here mate. However, if Gomez is better than Dzeko, then why are the CL runners up not interested in him, yet they'd love to have Dzeko playing in their banana skins!?

Because they need a striker who can contribute to the whole team. With us it's different. We need a striker purely for scoring goals, same reason Bayern play with Mandzukic as well. Part of the reason for this is that both Borussia and Bayern have other players who are regular goalscorers (reus, gotze, ribery, muller, robben...) with us we really dont have a midfielder who is also putting them away (maybe Yaya as an exception).

So we either need a really efficient Striker (Gomez) or a player playing in midfield also capable of goals (thinking of an el shaaraway, hazard type). I thought that player can be Insigne as he looked quality this season and Napoli could be willing to sell after they just have acquired Dries Mertens for next season.

Dont see Nastic being fist choice with Vinny to be honest

I can see why you say that, because of his relative in experience etc. I think we will get another CB, but Nastasic was one of our best players last year and considering Pellegrini's reputation of working well with young players, I think this lad will continue to develop into a world class CB. Our problem isn't defense though. We just need more goals. Remember we had the best defensive record in the PL last year....
