Rebuild

Selling Aguero would be utterly insane.

It's not going to happen anyway, thankfully.
Selling kun would be the only one off limits for me. If we appoint the best manager in the world we have to let him get on with it. There are players I would hope would be treated with respect such as Kompany, Zaba, Silva, Hart, whatever opinion Pep forms about them. Other than that he can go Leeds Brian Clough as far as I'm concerned.

I have every confidence that a summer without tournament football and a full pre season (for the first time in 3 years) will result in a rejuvenated Zabaleta.

I honestly don't think we should judge any players based on this season, even Yaya looked like he might have another season in him last night. Pellegrini can't be arsed and doesn't give a fuck, it's rubbing off on all the players and almost every one of them plays badly every game. When pep comes in everyone's got a clean slate for me, just trust in pep and hope pellegrini doesn't embarrass us too much before this season is out

For me we need the following whether step up from academy or purchased:
1 reserve keeper
2 fullbacks to replace kolarov and Sagan
2 centre backs to replace DM and possibly VK or otamdndi

3 midfield to replace yaya, Fernando, nasri/silva
1 wind man with pace to replace navas
1 up front to replace bony

Who, well on my shopping list:

Valdez, stones, walker, pogba, bale, Neymar
The rest from academy if possible.

I can't believe the guardiola has agreed to come without being given the tools to do his job, which will be to compete with Barca.

2 new fullbacks, 2 midfielder and a striker will come in, with the same number or another one going out.

5 top players addresses a lot of our issues. And we have youth to supplement the squad.

4 windows not 4 seasons if you chose to read , we have made mistakes but as I said we will get better because we are run by good people and like all successful people they make the changes when needed.

We lost to Juventus twice , we are well down the pecking order and Pep is the start of that journey to the top.

I follow the club like you do , I just know major changes on and off the field are required.

Pep is only the start of it , it takes time , learning from your mistakes etc.

Most would agree we need at least 6 players not even at the club yet to come in and be part of the nucleus during Peps reign.

Nobody at the club now or at least in the starting first choice eleven will be hear when we win our first Chumps League because we are still a number of years away from that feat.

It would be great if we achieved it under Pep but he is the start of the new era , its not a sprint , its a journey.

I am not surprised at all at where we are this year its logical to assume it would happen given last year and given who we bought in.

Our spine has run its course , the sooner you realise it the better you will equipped to handle the ups and downs to come.

Better competiton this year ?

A championship side run well with one decent scout , a youngish side and a record low points tally unless Leicester keep on winning to bag the title.

The premiership this year has been a disgrace , we, Chelsea , Manure , Liverpool , Arsenal , even Spurs have been woeful in the main.

Look at Europe , even the sides like Dortmund would have all of the above by the balls.

We should lose a spot in next years Chumps League if form was the indicator over the past few seasons.

All opinions in the end , lets see what next year brings because it has to better than the rubbish we have dished out this year and I really mean rubbish that isn't even entertaining to watch anymore.
Not much to disagree with there.

If Guardiola is the greatest manager/tactician/motivator/human there's ever been (as many on here will have us believe) he won't need to get rid of anybody or buy in bulk? He will use what he has with a few minor changes to conquer the world.

Hopefully, this season is the last remnants of FFP and at the end of this season the club can re-engage with its main missions.
Maybe UEFA need to man up a bit, too.
I dont agree with FFP being to blame. We have spent a bloody fortune on players but we just haven't spent that money well, thats the bottom line for me. Poor manager combined with poor spending over the last 3 or 4 years. The only exception to that is last summer where i feel we spent well.

A 'rebuild' or an 'overhaul' or whatever you want to call it has been long overdue. However having Guardiola be the manager when you do that overhaul ensures you will get the best players around. So it couldn't really have been done previously the way it will be done this summer.

I'm fully coming round to the idea we're going to have a record breaking summer in terms of the caliber of players we bring in and the amounts we spend. We should wish the old guard well, but time waits for no man and there's fuck all room for sentiment in football these days.

Mangala might be the acid test for Pep. I just don't think he is that bad a defender, and only needs the right manager to improve his decision making skills and overall awareness. Better full backs will help this. Then stop Otamendi diving in and there’s a good CB pairing in the making.

I'd plan to move VK to a defensive midfield position where if he gets injured it's less disruptive to the team.

Two new pacy full backs and an experienced CB is where I'd start.

Then an attack minded midfielder and one new striker.

Five players in total.
