i,m actually loving the fact that they can no longer attract the big players , it used to be that we didnt stand a chance with the likes of Pogba etc , and had to settle for scraps ,whoever was available and willing to come to us , now the tables have turned , its they who are snubbed nowadays , this is a major factor in their decline now and subsequent struggle to return to whatever greatness they once had !!

They will top that figure and then some in the coming windows, 3 seasons into Mourinho and they still need to take a wrecking ball to that squad. Will cost north of half a billion to fix and a lot of CEOs will be rubbing their hands when Eddie Twoplanks punches his password into his paypal account. City on the other hand have done their major surgery on the squad over the first two summers of Pep being here. The fact we were only in for Jorgihno and Mahrez shows we dont need to be having heavy summers of spending for the foreseeable future, we will need to replace Silva and Aguero in the coming seasons but I believe the replacements are already there in the squad and that the academy will produce the back ups. It is starting to bare fruits when you see Foden, Diaz and Sancho developing and the standard they are at, it just depends which of the youth team will be patient and wait for their chance.

We saw flashes of potential in Suarez and Lopez but at the time didnt seem to be able to make that jump into first team football. The players that are coming through the academy now look like they can make that jump.
