Do you mean 'he grew affinity towards United becasue they won things' - United are the easiest team in the country to support. All these fans that come from all over - what is the one reason the support united ? simple, its becasue they win things. Glory Hunters.

I mean, his favourite players played for United, mainly Best and Charlton but as somebody has said before, as long as you support them for the right reasons, which we both do (he still supported them during that season in the old second division) it doesn't matter where you come from

Did he get a medal?

Ironically, I put that bit in to stop some clever bastard from saying "I bet he didn't support them int the second division"

Oh Well.

West Yorskhire, and no that's not what the W is for in my name, my Dad is also from here, but like I say, when watching football wasn't as accessible as it is today, it's understandable that he grew an affinity towards the team he saw most often

Football wasn't as accessible as today? How do you mean?

What was wrong with your local clubs?

Leeds Utd for example?

Bradford City, Halifax Town, Huddersfield Town. All current or former league teams in West Yorkshire.

And Liam, you contradict yourself. If football wasn't as accessible as today, how was it easier to watch scum than any of the teams mentioned above?

By accessible, I do mean by watching on TV, that's how I started supporting United, I know it's hilarious, a United fan that watched their team on the TV. But people today say that they like certain teams because of what they've seen on TV, it could be argued that my Dad was the same, he liked United more and more because of what and who he was watching.

And I'm not getting into what's wrong with Leeds United, Jesus. But if you look at my Dad's main reason for why he began to follow United, it was George Best. Fantastic footballer, really great to watch, someone to actually look up to, and my Dad actually was a budding footballer in his youth, so it's easier to watch somebody who you can idolise. That idolisation of George Best gradually grew into an affinity with Man Utd

Look I'm sorry, that Manchester United isn't based here in West Yorkshire, and the tickets aren't given away. Your team is so much easier to support finacially that is, I looked at ticket prices for the Cup game against Notts county to which you didn't even bring 30,000 and the cost of a good seat? £17. If I was a Man City fan, I'd be there more often than not, but Man Utd are easier to watch on TV, but, if you must know, I've been to games against Wigan, Blackburn, Villa, Stoke, Birmingham and the derby, 6 out of the 14 home games we've played this season, which is more than most United fans.

you missed the point entirely lad.

Never mind....

blame your Dad for forcing that shower of rip-off merchants on you

Tuck yourself up in your giggsy duvet...It's late.

(out of interest how do you know our ticket prices and attendances? Bit obsessive?)

Well I took it to mean that I was being stereotyped as this 'Sky armchair' fan like every single Man Utd fan clearly is, but feel free to correct me
