I mean, his favourite players played for United, mainly Best and Charlton but as somebody has said before, as long as you support them for the right reasons, which we both do (he still supported them during that season in the old second division) it doesn't matter where you come from

Football wasn't as accessible as today? How do you mean?
What was wrong with your local clubs?
Leeds Utd for example?

Bradford City, Halifax Town, Huddersfield Town. All current or former league teams in West Yorkshire.
And Liam, you contradict yourself. If football wasn't as accessible as today, how was it easier to watch scum than any of the teams mentioned above?

By accessible, I do mean by watching on TV, that's how I started supporting United, I know it's hilarious, a United fan that watched their team on the TV. But people today say that they like certain teams because of what they've seen on TV, it could be argued that my Dad was the same, he liked United more and more because of what and who he was watching.
And I'm not getting into what's wrong with Leeds United, Jesus. But if you look at my Dad's main reason for why he began to follow United, it was George Best. Fantastic footballer, really great to watch, someone to actually look up to, and my Dad actually was a budding footballer in his youth, so it's easier to watch somebody who you can idolise. That idolisation of George Best gradually grew into an affinity with Man Utd

Well I took it to mean that I was being stereotyped as this 'Sky armchair' fan like every single Man Utd fan clearly is, but feel free to correct me
