Anyone got a clip of the foul on Haaland in the first couple of minutes. Looked a clear yellow and possible red for a DOGSO but ref just gave free kick. Shocking performance reminiscent of the Chelsea game.

I don't but it was definitely a yellow. Similar to Akanji's booking a bit later on. A perfect example of Alty reffing the game differently.

Don’t be daft Ric, its not that Taylor is just a shit ref amongst a worrying number of equally shit refs, it’s a PGMOL conspiracy so wide ranging that not a single member of the hundreds of low paid staff that need be involved have leaked it.

I guess a ref can be inherently biased against a team without it being a high-level conspiracy.

What I don’t get is, how did it take a 3 minute VAR check for them to validate the red? Surely if it’s as clear and obvious as it looks (hands on neck) then there’s no grey area…or is there?

Remember the Ederson penalty farce he gave Arsenal last season, that has never been given as a penalty before or after. And funny enough a few days later a very similar incident happened in one game, Taylor was the ref, not given as a penalty of course.
The guy has an issue with us, every single game he officiates us differently to the opposition

I think somebody at the club needs to do something. Mark the twats card and let him know it’s not going unnoticed….

For a referee, catching Rodri acting aggressively is the absolute mother lode; straight off, a three-game ban, and the chance of even more. Be like an adolescent finding an adult mag in a hedge.

Why exactly would many low paid staff need to be involved for referees to be instructed to attempt to influence outcomes of matches?

Because as much as I appreciate you desperately want to believe, ultimately PGMOL is a private business with employees doing normal jobs, not one of whom have heard or accidentally been CC’d into an email and leaked any details of this secretive scheme, which any journalist would blow the budget to get hold of.

Neither have any of the referees, linesman or fourth officials involved ever had one too many sherries and spilt the beans to a friend or family member. Indeed the closest we have come is refs saying they’ve been asked to retrospectively change their reports *after* games to reduce or increase suspensions based on Sky’s editorial line.

Of course it could be that Howard Webb has bought every ref a Bittium loaded with Encrochat to give them their orders and keep this nefarious scheme deep under wraps, but not even Mulder and Scully would take that one on, and I’m sure as much as we may not agree on this topic, even you don’t seriously believe it in your heart.
