I don’t disagree about opposition time wasting, but the ball is still in play far more in our games than in other teams. It’s because there are less throws and goal kicks as we keep the ball most of the game.I’m also glad we don’t as I think it’s a glimpse into their inner psyche that reveals weakness.
In games where Arsenal are trailing or level for long periods, as they have been in some of the recent ones where famous last minute goals clinched them back to back titles, they aren’t rolling around so much and so the quarter of an hour or so that’s added on is unjustified.
We do ok in spite of the fourth official not adding on the correct amount of time. How many times at home during recent seasons when from the first min to the last it’s been a workshop in how to waste time by the opposition keeper have we moaned incredulously when only 4 or 5 mins of added time is put up at the end ?
Therefore we get less injury time.
