Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Why does the blue line obscur/go over the defenders ankle but goes under Bobbs foot. Are they supposed to do that? Seems a bit odd and inconsistent?
I really don’t get any of this marginal offside shit, drawing of lines etc. if it’s not clearly offside to the naked eye, or if var have to be involved to a freeze frame ( no lines) then it’s ONSIDE.

Bearing in mind the technology / officials are not competent enough to distinguish the exact moment the ball is played, they are happy with “clear and obvious “ with regards to errors, why one earth not do exactly the same with offsides

Repeat : if it’s not clearly and obviously offside, then it’s onside !

Bobb’s goal was good, Bobb’s your uncle !

I have to agree, it way to close and does depend on where the picture is stopped on Fodens pass.

It doesn’t show he wasn’t either though and the call on field was offside.

As you suggest, determining the exact point of contact is impossible, so your version is just as valid as the one in the picture.
It isn’t impossible and I didn’t say it was. I said they chose the wrong frame.

Perfectly put sir !

People might have different ideas about what is the fastest system. But as long as you have VAR, you’re going to have controversy.

No matter what the guideline is, even if it’s just use the naked eye. You’re always going to get the system used plus or minus a centimetre.

I disagree.

Using lines make the offside decisions more accurate and takes away the subjectivity of one person thinking it's clearly offside and someone not being sure.

However, they do need to be much quicker making a decision.
