Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

I haven’t watched the game back and won’t do as it pisses me off

What I would say is that my view from the game was -

3 mins h1 and 4 mins half 2 injury time was woefully inadequate. H2 there were var reviews, plenty of subs and amazing amounts of chelsea time wasting. Arsenal or Liverpool would have got 5 or 6 mins h1 and 8 to 10 mins h2. It’s clear, like Newcastle away, we don’t get injury time like they do. It’s bent

Chelsea should have had 2 pens v Liverpool and Brentford 1, neither got any and Chelsea’s first was at 0 0. Bent

We should have had 2 pens yesterday - both at my end of the ground, both neither Madley or Banks were ever going to give us, both would have been given to the dippers

We are being deliberately and systematically fucked over by refs and the red clubs are favoured. PL heads have admitted what’s best for the brand, and it ain’t us

united winning the prem year after year is apparently good for the product, as is Chelsea winning the WSL every year. Us winning it is not

The only big club to get financially scrutinised and fucked over is us. Rags fail it and get fuck all punishment, Liverpool fail it and get fuck all punishment, Liverpool illegally hack and get fuck all punishment? Liverpool have 75% asthmatics and nothing is said

Football is bent as fuck
Plus another for good luck

There's just far too much that can be manipulated by the official these days.

Stoppage time has been added to that this year. We seem to get a rough deal with that because we have the ball in play more than any other team.

If a ref doesn't give a red card, the bar for overturn is too high, but again that can be manipulated depending on how they are feeling that day

If the ref does give a pen or red card, they don't have the bollocks to overturn because they don't want to undermine the referee. So the bar for a given penalty or red card to be overturned is impossibly high if they can spot any slight contact anywhere(in a contact sport)

I'm talking about potential GAME CHANGING events. The deliberate kick out at Ederson's head last week is a case in point. Airbrushed from history.

Perfect example of my point.

Some City fans think it was borderline GBH and can’t understand why anything else is even being discussed for a week, it was that serious.

Yet outside of City, a large percentage of people seem to think it was something and nothing.

While they’re raging about a GAME CHANGING incident in their game, that a lot of City fans saw and instantly forgot all about.

Was the incriminating angle shown on the broadcast? I don't remember it, tbh. I thought it was just a coming together at the time and only saw the "horizontal stamp" later on social media. Other fans won't be micro-analysing our games if it isn't handed to them by the broadcaster. That's normal.

Wait, you’re saying fans of other clubs claim a deliberate kick in the face is something and nothing and therefore we are wrong?

Well fancy that. Certainly no shock that that’s the way you’re looking at it. God forbid you finally come to the realisation that we have been on the end of some awful refereeing after spending so much time denying it.

The fact other teams have also been done over this weekend to the benefit of the usual suspects is just the luck of the draw.

Whether the contact constitutes 'GBH' or not, you could see the CLEAR intent (violent conduct) which is the threshold for a red card. Some punters spouting shite about him 'not knowing where the ball was' is just bollocks. The player CERTAINLY knew where Eddie's head was.

The point still stands - it WAS airbrushed. Had it been Foden on Pickford, they'd still be banging on about it.

No mate, you have no idea how I’m looking at the incident. As I haven’t offered an opinion on it. As I consciously haven’t for virtually any decision involving City this season.

But it seems I don’t need to express an opinion for you to know how I’m thinking.

Ever since the other guy highlighted your seemingly random capitalisation of certain words, I’ve become a bit obsessed with trying to work out some sort of pattern to it.
