Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Psss and don't forget about the inflated amount of injury time they get in their games when not winning by the 90th minute.
Would it be crazy to think they are the products chosen ones this season
I don't think the PL want Liverpool to win the league because their fans are cunts. They got away with it thanks to COVID last time.

Arsenal are inoffensive in comparison and a "safe" team that would "protect the brand"

I await to see who's given the chance to fuck us over at the Emirates. Attwell or Tierney?

Because of the furore over the 'human error' that denied Liverpool a goal yesterday, certain officials have had to be scratched off today's dance card, and so the fourth official at the City Ground will be none other than mister 'human error' himself, Craig Pawson. Oh the irony.

this is actually quite an important issue in the English game today, and one of the very few things PGMOL are not at fault for.

They tried several times to enforce strict fitness tests on refs to bomb out the old fat fucks refusing to retire with dignity and were forced to back down each time.

Subsequently the ‘fitness test’ is so watered down that you could pass it the morning after a Wolf of Wall Street style bender and thus we are forced to see guys like Jon Moss a few years back waddling around at the end of his career clearly 20kg overweight and never within 15 yards of play.

It’s quite sad to think back not that many years to guys like Collina who looked like they could do 120 minutes in a desert and then run a marathon after.
To add to the point about the non existent fitness tests allowing guys like Friend, Moss and Dean to retire on their terms - at least 5 years late in each case, you then have the issue of salaries for referees.

The top PL referees get a salary of around £40k a year, with around £1k per game stipend so around £70k for the most used refs…

In a league flush with an embarrassing level of cash, the official are the lowest paid people pitchside of the advertising boards…even the kids on the bench earn more, so how can you really expect to ever get new people to go into refereeing, unless they’re complete and utter weirdos doing it for the love of refereeing…..

Outside the PL, the refs are still semi-pros and most will be working a 9-5 and then travelling Friday night to their assigned game. Again, how can you expect to get the best of the younger refs trying to improve when they can’t even give them a professional environment.

The PL has the most money of any league, yet pays it refs half of what La Liga or Bundesliga refs get….even Ligue 1 refs get 50% more..

We've not had Taylor for the best part of eight days. He's due another outing!

He was listed for this on Friday

Just reporting what was on the BBC: "Craig Pawson will now assume England's duties as fourth official at the City Ground while Eddie Smart will take over from Cook as assistant referee at Craven Cottage," said referees' body PGMOL.

Maybe just more ‘human error’…

Look at Hwang's reaction. Even he knew the red card was coming.
Absolutely nothing in the media yet again as it happened against us. At times i wish the club would kick off a lot more about the officiating we get, Pep briefly brought it up re Taylor the other week but no where near strong enough.

A convienent assumption that no one looks at the PL website
I wonder if he observed how the Forrest player was given two yellows for less that Hwang committed yesterday?
