Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Truth hurts the Alti fan.
The thing is, if football wants to stop this sort of abuse, it's the right decision.

It's the same with all the off the ball grappling at corners, if it was properly dealt with by referee's every time, it would stop in a couple of weeks, because it would start costing clubs points.

There are some quite simple things in football that annot fans, that could be sorted very quickly if the will was there, for another example, things like diving, just book the player every time (Doku was an example for us today).

VAR is rightly slated at times for poor decisions, but football doesn't help itself either, deal with the real shite and get rid of it.

I agree.

For example; If they really want it to stop they will have to allow refs to be able to issue more red cards for dissent. Of course we know what will happen when they do. The usual TV suspects will kick off that the games are being spoiled by the spendings off rather than backing the refs for laying down the law.

What did daft dermot have to say about our disallowed goal?
Basically said that slight brushes of keeper’s arms can make them drop the ball and that, although he thought it was on the soft side, that once the foul was given, he thought VAR couldn’t overturn the decision.

Warnock said that the over protection of keepers needs looking at, but at least the law is applied similarly most of the time.

Remind me, did Gallagher comment on the Newcastle goal in the league cup?
