Best ref I've seen this season. Took no shenanigans. Any 50/50 he let go. Hope we get him again next week. He'll deffo be ref for the final. Bellingham should have been booked for his deliberate foul on dias trying to get revenge for an earlier tackle but that's the only thing he got wrong

Very good performance, especially with the pressure put on him by the Real team, especially Bellendham.

Great refereeing, hope we get him for future games.
I can deal with losing games but I can’t stand when we are cheated out of games by poor decisions.

Madrid not used to not having a ref on their side. The last couple we've had in games against them have been really good. Last year's ref also went on to do the final and could see the same happening again with tonight's.

Just ventured over to BBC hys and the praise this ref is getting from neutral fans tells you how bad premier league refs are.
Seems we all want our game back, proper football without the dramatics.

Great ref. It takes a courage to book Madrid player in first minute. He was very good, showed character. I hope in the second leg the ref will be at least at 75% of level of the Frenchman.

Bellingham could have been booked for the elbow in to Dias’ back, numerous instances of vociferous dissent, a couple of less than optimal challenges, or simulation.

But it seems the compromise for Madrid not having a ref completely in their pocket was him wearing card armour.
