Ref Watch

I must be getting numb to it all, as I didn't think he was too bad today, he certainly wasn't great, but we've had a lot worse imho.

Overall, I thought the same. There were some weird things, though. Play stopping for Joelinton holding his foot - when did that become a thing. Not stopping play after a nasty-looking collision. Then booking Ake for it. Blowing his whistle at Ederson when two up.

Btw, I thought you couldn't give a yellow card if you played advantage? Not sure why not, in all honesty, but isn't that the rule?

A few City players should go and listen to the “team talk”.

Gordon tried doing that when Grealish was getting some instructions and Dias shoved him away.

You can play advantage & then go back for a caution. However, every training course I have ever been on, they tell you that you should not play advantage on any yellow or red card offences

The ref yesterday did the classic reffing when you are not fit enough. He only ever went about 5 yards either side of the half way line. Also, how can you forget your whistle & have to get one from the 4th official. Laughable

Found it funny Pope WAS still timewasting when they went a goal down.

And the ref still let him time waste

Because referees think when a team is losing it doesn’t matter or why should a team losing waste time! Teams play the same against us at 1 nil down as when they are 0-0 because it’s all about staying in the game and maybe get a point or nicking it..

Yesterday in the Southampton v Leicester match, the ball went over to Walcott who was offside, didn’t touch the ball but the Lino but the flag up straight away and the ref blew the whistle - obviously wasn’t United playing
Theres been about 50 examples since. One a few mins after that incident in the Brighton/Liverpool game. They have never even come close to doing anything similar!! Tells you all you need to know!!
