Ref Watch

Apart from just looking at the keeper rather than booking him early on,apparently it falls under 'Eddie's rule' and not flashing a few yellows at the Leeds players, although standards are low he had one of the best performances of a Prem ref at our pad this season.
Yes he wasn't too bad.
Only thing he has put himself out of the running for the cup final now with that performance.
Oliver still top of the list with his arsenal performance

Hate the **** but far from the worst we’ve seen. The only big issue for me was the non booking for the assassination attempt on KDB - rather than booking the **** who did it he gave him a cuddle. Other than that I can’t think of a big decision he got wrong

I think he referee’d the match ok yesterday and some find fault where there isn’t any. To be brutally honest, I couldn’t see a foul with the penalty given.

Not for the first time, Chris Kavanagh looked like an absolute passenger for most of the Toon-Arsenal game and remains ridiculously reluctant to show a freaking yellow card to anybody.

What on Earth was he doing? Endless time-wasting ignored, several nasty fouls completely overlooked (on both sides), and letting players back-chat and get in his face with no punishment. There was a stage where the game really threatened to get nasty, and he showed no intent to try and get a handle on it.

I was obviously rooting for Newcastle, but being fair, Guimaraes was allowed to make four fouls without a card being shown. And Arsenal got away with a few nasty challenges and an absolute ton of time-wasting (Hi Ramsdale). He's a shocking referee, he really is.
