Ref Watch

Whilst I was as upset as everyone on here with the officials performance yesterday, I am amazed that anyone can actually call into question the integrity of the officials and their leadership.
Incompetent they may appear, but actually 'bent' they are not. We lose the argument taking this stance and with no actual evidence leave our credibility at a lower level than the people we accuse.
I had 37 years as a referee, covering games from parks to efl level and never at any time have I even heard of a 'supposed' story relating to referees being bent. Ive met some great refs, some good ones and the odd bloody awful ones, but 99.9% of them were reffing cos they loved the game and wanted to put something back into it.
Lets criticise them by all means, but I still believe they just get things wrong, even with VAR. A change at the top is however long overdue.
Incompetence is when you get decisions wrong for both sides on a regular basis, not when the decisions all go against the one team.

A certain former PL referee was showing off a 25k watch given to him by Fergusson a few years ago. Why did he get that?

With respect to your experience as a referee, the PL is a massive income source and there is a lot of external pressure from the tv companies and media to keep the rags and dippers in the spotlight.

I do not believe it is inconceivable that there is corruption or bias shown towards both clubs and that there are many examples of " questionable decisions " going in their favour. Referees at both OT and Liverpool give a number of such decisions which usually are favourable to the home club, so it is difficult to believe that this is always down to " human error ".

Both clubs being successful is an objective clearly desired by the PL as has been previously stated , and so it would hardly be a surprise if bias from certain individuals is not evident .

And can you explain the decision by Tierney not to give a second yellow to Milner yesterday in view of the blatant foul committed on Siva ?

I don't think Sky showed the replay of the ref blowing but I was sure he awarded the free for the foul by Henderson which kind of shoved Silva over Milner. There was a stat a few pages back that some sums up this ref and his employers, no red card since December 2020. All Mike Riley wants is to be left alone, if you want to progress you simply don't make decisions. Stay out of trouble until it blows over and you have Old Trafford next Saturday.

It's not corruption, Sterling is lying in front of the keeper (presumably offside), if its corruption then its not very difficult to get the outcome you want by simply ruling that one out. It's incompetence and cowardice but it all stems from that **** at the top. Look at him? He's a weasel, skinny, small, bald, typical weasel. This thread will reach a million pages unless he's replaced.
Silva falling over Milner's leg was closer to the schoolyard prank of pushing someone backward with another person kneeling behind them than your suggestion that it was almost accidental. Milner was as complicit as Henderson and should both have had yellow cards.
From what I remember about the offside the attacker has to be in the eyeline of the goalkeeper or interfering with them. Sterling could not be in the 6ft plus Allison's eyeline if he stood erect never mind bending down kissing the turf. Inteferring? Allison had loads of space. And apart from that I have only seen 1 reply but it looks to me as though there is a red shirt near the far post playing Sterling on.

I think if a referee cannot officiate in a balanced correct manner regardless of where they are officiating, then they are either bent or should be f#cked off as incompetent.

There is no transparency. A start would be something like Ref Watch on SSN coming out and saying ‘yeah he fucked up’, instead they treat everyone as imbeciles by suggesting the ref was correct when everyone, including dippers, knew he was wrong
