Ref Watch

Not quite how I remember it. Ours was a definite shirt tug, theirs was Sterling putting his hand, palm up, on Shawcross's chest whilst they were jostling for position. Absolute non penalty.
My point, though, is that both would not have been given the year before, and most don't now. For worse instances. I certainly didn't shout 'penalty' and was surprised to see it given. Think Dean was making a point!

As soon as the ball is in the oppo area and hits something (it could be one of our players!) I'm screaming penalty!

Me and my mate was talking about this morning and the foul on Phil Foden by James Milner and we came to the conclusion that neither of us had ever seen VAR being used at klanfield. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve never seen lines drawn across the pitch to check potential offsides and I can’t recollect if the ref has ever gone over to the TV on the touch line to check a decision.
It's also one of only two grounds in the premier league who don't have a big screen to replay incidents or inform fans that there is a VAR check and what for. The other team also wear red and reside in theh North West close to Manchester.

That’s right but have we ever seen lines drawn on the TV and I have never seen a refereeing decision go to the monitor.

I thought he was great today. Let the game flow.
Is that sarcasm ?

It was one of the most one eyed official performances I have seen from where I sat. He "let the game flow" virtually every time we were fouled, and stopped it every time someone breathed near one of their players, he's attrocious and bent, not a great combination.

I wasn’t sure who the ref was and asked one of my friends across the aisle. Without hesitation his response came back: Mr Magoo!
That, alongside the liner on the CB side, was one of the worst performances from a ref I have ever had the bad fortune to witness!
He ignored everything when they kicked and pulled at our team’s clothing. It’s a wonder we didn’t have at least 9 semi naked footballers on the pitch! The way he allowed their goalkeeper to waste time was sinful.
Those are the first things that come to mind. There were others!

The lino.

I'm in the upper tier of the South Stand and a ball went over the back line so far I could see grass between it and the ball, now from my angle that has to be a foot over the line, the idiot in charge couldn't see, so asked the lino, who I saw put a thumb up to say it stayed in play, would have been a corner to us. Now he is on the opposite side of the pitch and has to look through the goal to see, all our near by players claimed the corner.

They decided as soon as we scored early they were giving us nothing, and continued it for 80+ minutes.
