Ref Watch

I did wonder why we had a more experienced match officials for a home game against Burnley than we did away at Klanfield.

It looked like they had their own game management plan and stuck to it.

I'm getting paranoid about that being the reason we're having so many old school 3pm kick offs. Maybe the armchair neutrals would recognise the way officials manage our games in comparison to others?

the top point I agree with. The last one, not so much, you tend to get a few 3pm games early in the season as the TV picks have to get rotated around. That being said, it is odd that Leicester's home games v both us and United were 3pm games. Surely they'd be TV picks. Though we won and they lost so not sure there's much controversial in the actual games.

As an armchair neutral currently sitting in his armchair in CBL3 I can recognise the way officials stuff us and screw us. I thought the Time Lord was charged with making sure we didn't register another 5-0, and they are instructed to be mindful that we have won a title on GD a few seasons back, so with The Dippers scoring five earlier he achieved his target and kept us to two. Should have been three with the foul on Phil. Should have been five or six if we'd taken our created chances. But Atkinson refs by numbers - we were never gonna get the usual goalfest!

In that case I suspect they've found their team for the Derby.

or you know, we could just kick the ball in the goal more often?

At least the majority of refs are not giving easy free kicks just because a player falls over.
Now to sort out the other 10 major issues.

I did feel sorry for their keeper having to play on a pitch resembling a mud bath. He had to keep banging his boots on the goal posts to clear the mud out of his studs. Fortunately the ref was very understanding and allowed him to do it at every goal kick.
