I'm in the upper tier of the South Stand and a ball went over the back line so far I could see grass between it and the ball, now from my angle that has to be a foot over the line, the idiot in charge couldn't see, so asked the lino, who I saw put a thumb up to say it stayed in play, would have been a corner to us. Now he is on the opposite side of the pitch and has to look through the goal to see, all our near by players claimed the corner.
They decided as soon as we scored early they were giving us nothing, and continued it for 80+ minutes.
We weren't sure of that, as he caught it in the air it's hard to see, but he was inline with the edge of the box, so might have got that right, from our angle he looked well outside, but he caught the ball 4 feet in the air. Did you see the one where their goalkeeper caught the ball outside his area? We were convinced he had, the linesman (hedging my bets there!) must have seen it, the referee must have seen it but totally ignored it! Grrrr

And he hasn't got a game this weekend, just VAR duties. So he's had a slap on the wrist for that bizarre failure to issue a red card effectively.It'll be interesting to see in a couple of weekends, when the PL resumes, whether Tierney gets a game or not. If refs were judged on their ability to deal with time wasting then there would be about two refs in the top dozen divisions.Need to change goal kick rule, once you place the ball down, it stays on that side, if you pick it up and place on the opposite side results in a penalty.
