I don't quite agree with this. I didn't think there were many fouls that he let them get away with.
The obvious one is of course the Foden penalty claim. The angle from behind Oliver shows exactly what he was looking at and to give a United foul for that is a disgrace.
On the whole, however, I thought he got the fouls right.
What he didn't get right were the cards. There was a challenge in the centre circle in the first half when the score was still 1-0, Maguire on KDB. That was a borderline yellow that Maguire got away with. Then there was that awful challenge on KDB that Maguire got a yellow for, even though VAR wouldn't have overturned a red. Then there was the accumulation of fouls that should have seen several yellows but didn't produce any. I watched the game again yesterday and when KDB was pulled down on the edge of their area (the shot that went straight down De Gea's throat) you could see Phil Foden saying to the ref 'how many?' The frustration that their repeated fouls weren't being carded was clear, and it was felt throughout the stands.
So at every turn he was giving the rags the benefit of the doubt. That's what he does, and it doesn't matter whether they are at home or away.
I don't actually remember them touching the ball in our area - even their goal was a shot from the 18 yard line - so perhaps it's no surprise he didn't award them a penalty.
