Ref Watch

I didn't watch the Liverpool CL game last night but listened on the radio. The dodgy Spanish ref, Lahoz, apparently sent off Sancho for a second yellow the minute after Inter had scored. Apparently he got the ball and even Lalana the Liverpool supporting pundit said he couldn't understand why he got a second yellow. Inter were livid and got their deputy coach red carded for protesting, (like he gave Pep for protesting when we had a legitimate goal chalked off, also playing Liverpool in the CL!)

It's what I expected in our CL final, 2 yellows doesn't get VAR and there's nothing anyone can do. I still believe that is why Pep didn't play a traditional DM from the start. Maybe in future years the truth about Lahoz will be fully revealed?

I thought it was reported he was given the CL final last season as he was apparently stepping down from reffing duties and that was his way of bowing out?

Yeah I heard reports about that before the CL final, but as you say no retirement happened. Given the intense hostility between Lahoz and Pep historically, this seemed a hugely controversial pre-match appointment by Uefa.

Personally I put pre-match bets on that we would have a man red carded and Chelsea would get a penalty. I genuinely think Pep changed his team to try and counter Lahoz?

As it happened our changes probably contributed to our loss, and Lahoz and Uefa were all smiles after, his appointment had succeeded. However if we had somehow got a goal, I think Lahoz would have done his "2 yellows" or given a penalty against us.

He was given the final because he wanted the shaft our team, and more importantly our gaffer. His ego is all about baiting Pep.

If you look into the slimy, cheating bastard he supposedly retired after the Champions League final, do you not remember him crying like it was all about him? He refereed in the euro's a couple of times but that was supposed to be that.

Anyway, he's still hanging around and for me it's got that horrible frog looking twat Tebas written all over it. He was also the referee when we beat Brugge 4-1 at home but there was nothing he could do with that.

UEFA will be saving him to do his stuff for them when we get drawn with a team he can 'work' with.

German rags then...

Now if i heard correctly that was the ref`s last FA cup game, it must have been the first foul he has given Jesus as well, and it was a penalty, perhaps someone remembers another? but with 3 goals one a VAR checked penalty 10 substitutions and a booking for time wasting, he gave 2 minutes of extra time the same as the first half?. On that note do we have the most bookings for goalkeepers time wasting?

Said the same to my mate and he said does it matter. Yes it does was my response, regardless of the score. Why not blow at 88 minutes if that is the case and say the game is over. How can a keeper be booked for time wasting but the time isn't then added on. They make it up as they go along as there probably should have been six minutes minimum added on yesterday.
