Ref Watch

Hopper was poor there is no doubt we get treated differently than the opponents There is a deliberate tactic being used against City if we are getting momentum. Everton being the best example, an player will fake injury and either we stupidity stop play or the ref does, the ref goes over and generally the player makes a miraculous recovery or they get treated for cramp crucially they don’t leave the field. Last night hooper stop play when City were moving forward to check upon a Spurs player who appeared to be “injured” on the touchline this is despite Spurs not stopping play when they had the ball He ran over to him and yep he had a miracle cure
There needs to be a ruling that if player receives treatment by physio or another player, or play is stop due to a possible injury the player has to leave the play for 5 minutes Let’s see then if they want to fake injury then

FIFA announced at the same time as the more publicised referees explaining VAR overturns, that they are going to be clamping down on time wasting. Whether it will be actually addressing it or just adding more time on World Cup style, time will tell.

I’d like to see a trial where physios are allowed on the pitch while play continues. Or even more radical, if you want treatment, you hobble off the pitch. If you’re incapable of that then you’re obviously too injured to carry on, so they stretch you off and you stay off.

I wonder what would have transpired had City players set about kicking the Spurs players in exactly the same way for which Hooper took an age to draw a yellow card. I suspect the first tackle would have connected with a yellow and it wouldn't have taken as long, nor would a repeat of a mandatory issue of a yellow have been given the 'can't book two in five minutes' mantra so favoured by refs, regardless of what the LotG say.
And what would have happened to a City player had they attempted to put a Spurs player on the slab in the manner Hojbjerg tried on Rico?

It's not anything that hasn't been said already, but nice to see that it's in print somewhere, but it also makes it all the more annoying that we have corruptly had 3 points taken from us.
To add to the three points against Brentford. There were several occasions where City could have had a penalty but they were again waved away. The video of the Brentford player with the ball in both hands directly above the line was apparently " inconclusive ". City haven't played well in the few games before the Spurs game but time and again the same methods are employed to hold City back. The reverse for certain other teams and people wonder why City struggle when they are going through a rough patch but " mentality monsters " continue picking up points.

I have said this many times, the ‘clear and obvious error’ threshold for VAR allows them to continue to attempt to influence match outcomes via officiating.

The ref didn’t immediately give the penalty on Grealish and no doubt they will come out later and say VAR found there was no “clear and obvious error” to require the ref to via the incident.
