Ref Watch

Anyone see the use of VAR last night in the utd game .A quick look at Fernandez missing the ball ( VAR reckoned he touched it ) which then allowed Cavani to be onside .For Fulhams goal they looked at it from Angles never seen before ,the even had the screen split 3 ways .2 the usual way and one at an angle in the top left of the screen . It looked like this / I I if that makes sense .
This is one of the major problems with VAR, like you say they tried everything possible to rule that Fulham goal out & the Rags goal had some blurry (even though I watched in UHD) distanced shot where you couldn’t even tell when the keeper launched it, thank god for foreign tv stations who tend to release stills that actually show the incidents clearly & not ones manipulated for a separate cause (cheating). Sky Bt & every other broadcaster have a duty to show every single angle and commentators should be keeping us informed properly of VAR, maybe it’s time for a split screen If decisions go to VAR with the game on one side & the twats manipulating lines on the other, or more to the point start cancelling subscriptions as a way of forcing change, especially through the summer where a large amount take a breather anyway, can’t wait for live football to return

They've realised that they have much more important things to do that will move the club forward. Riley will take as much notice of that performance by Stupid Stuart, after talking to One Lung Jonny, as he would over the weather forecast for next December.
Riley was one of the most corrupt or incompetent referees. Now he is in charge, it's a complete farce. It goes on game after game completely unchallenged. VAR as never made a wrong decision it's the buffoons using it that needs sorting. Everybody should be able to hear the process of making the decisions and there needs to be some explanation after the game. The referee's really need to be accountable, everybody can make a mistake but when it's the same referee's every week spoiling game something has to change, start at the top by getting rid of Riley it's him who is blocking the referee's from being mic'd up and we all know why. I find it hard to believe it's corruption, but also find it hard to see how they can make such obvious mistakes constantly game after game.

Which broadcaster had the behind the ball view of Cancello and Wellshit as it wasn't BT unless they suddenly found it 24 hours later. I don't understand how poor rugby union can show the ref within seconds three or four, sometimes more, angles, yet the mighty rich football cameras can't do the same. Funny how BT do both rugby and football isn't it!

Refs make mistakes, but when mistakes are supported by VAR they cease to be mistakes and become conspiracies. I have no other explanation.
Agreed. I am convinced VAR is not giving decisions so it doesn't keep showing up the man on the pitch. At the end of the day they are all in the same job so I believe they have sat down and outright said we are not going to make a fool of each game.

Bit like when your mate at school might cover you when your running late into school or forgot your homework.

well a mistake is unconsciously committed but when you repeat the same mistakes over and over , it’s not a mistake anymore .
Its not a mistake when you are about to blow whistle for a foul but sudden change of mind and insult victim with booking .
that is not a mistake

Agreed. His usual response on the occasions an incident he has backed is denied by VAR is to justify his views by then saying "but by the letter of the law ........" He makes up the LofG as he goes along. He's an idiot
This all day long.
Remember his inane ramblings after Barnardo's goal at home against Villa?
Made a twat of himself that night with his "expert" analysis then backtracked when it was pointed out to him that the laws of the game that he likes to quote completely contradicted what he had just said.
A clueless twat stealing a living with a history of incompetence and corruption during his days as a whistling wanker.

Supporters of all clubs should be encouraged to voice their total dissatisfaction with PiGMOL and it's management of referees performances and VAR operation.

They are responsible for ruining the game we all love.

Fans moaning on club forums isn't going to change a thing as far as these arrogant cunts are concerned.

Hahaha the refs in this country are a shambles. The ball was still in play too so can't use that excuse.

The Twitter link showing the foul on the Jesus, a few posts back, confirms to me that this is corruption. Attwell sees the foul, and is about to blow. (Reminiscent of Luiz v Aguero). He then turns round and lets play continue, with Brighton in possession. Attwell then looks back at Jesus, who is on the floor, before continuing to follow play. Play stops following the Fernandinho foul.

Look at the Brighton player that kicks Jesus, and where the ball is in relation to the "challenge". It is clear that he has no intention of playing the ball. It is just a dangerous kick out at Jesus.

Under the Laws of the Game, this is a definite foul, at least a yellow card, and potentially a red card. There is absolutely no rational reason why Attwell didn't penalise this foul, because he saw it and was about to penalise it.

It is almost as if the Brighton player knew he could perform this foul with impunity. Maybe he could. Maybe the other guy that fouled Gundogan knew that he could commit any foul and the maximum punishment would be a yellow card.

But for Attwell to see the foul, instinctively go to penalise it, and change his mind, to me, says he was carrying out instructions from someone else. This needs to be explained, or even investigated.

Felt this right from the outset. They knew.

With the resources available to us we should be crawling all over this. Follow the money.

If, instead of sliding and taking him out with his body, he had run up to him and “just” kicked him over, would THAT have been a penalty?

And the difference? He probably wasn’t getting to the ball in either case!

It’s like the old nugget of the singer pushing g the ball past the full back and getting body checked or tripped by him. Is it not a foul if the ball was going out of play 10 yards behind the interaction?!

The so-called “Laws of the Game” are being made up on the fly by half the officials in the League.

Pawson looks like a scared grandma while refereeing and instills zero confidence in his command of the game.

I definitely believe the Brighton fans had an influence. Last minute, home side ahead, the crowd would have gone berserk if the ref' gives a penalty - Attwell bottled it. VAR probably saw him about to blow for the foul and "Suggested" he ignored it "For crowd safety reasons".
