Ref Watch

And then Grealish does one foul and gets booked immediately.
I think it was the Jack's reaction of Moura choosing to fall over Jack's legs instead of a using a little bit of athleticism and rising nine inches into the air and jumping over them. Mind, at least the whistling wanker booked Sanchez for his gobby interjection. I remember Taylor reffing the CFC game where he sent off two of ours and allowed two CFC players to remain on - one of whom threw Aguero to the ground and another, Fabregarse, I think, smacked Ferny on the face. Perhaps Taylor saw the lot yesterday and realised that VAR would have picked it up and he couldn't ignore it this time.

Sideshow Bob felled Aguero when he was clean through. He was last man and should have seen red as I've no doubt Sergio would have scored. Either Taylor bottled it, or he was under orders (my money is on the latter). To be fair Serg deserved his sending off I'm only pissed off he didn't kick him harder.

Sergio Aguero tackle on David Luiz sparked the Battle of the Etihad - but it wasn't the first time the Manchester City has gone in hard on the Chelsea defender (thesun.co.uk)

The headline from the sun is a bit disingenuous as the game was brought to boiling point by Taylor's blatantly obvious one-sided refereeing not Aguero's tackle on Luiz.

I've never seen such a discraceful application of the LotG as the whistling wanker manufactured that day, although I did see the back end of a Euro game where one of the teams would have lynched him had there been a rope handy.

Its alright them talking on Sky about these great new rules that all contact isn't a foul and they're going to let the game flow, but how consistent will this be applied throughout the season.
I've a feeling Raheem is going to get a rough ride from refs now

That game still niggles me to this day. Something was most definitely off about the way the game was officiated. I have my suspicions that the outcome of that game was expected to go a certain way and had been decided before KO. Would love to see a detailed analysis of the global betting markets before/during that match.

They have basically made it MORE subjective and open to corruption. Same with the 'thicker' lines for offside.

These changes are always welcome until Rags 'n Dippers are on the shitty end and then they are abandoned with such alacrity you ever wondered whether we had them in the first place.

I think Taylor is a good referee generally. But I do think he has a bias against us.

A 50:50 challenge never goes our way. It has to be very obviously balanced in our favour for us to get a close call.

Penalties for us are very rare. Penalties against us can be given for pretty innocuous challenges. We need to be careful in this area.

He rarely misses an opportunity to issue a caution against one of ours, even for minor infringements. Nobody can argue that Grealish was unfairly cautioned yesterday, but he just wouldn't operate to that same strict standard if Fernandez or Maguire or Pogba gave the same reaction. Accumulated cautions result in a suspension, and Taylor is well aware that he is contributing to the long term effect. Witness their player getting a final warning after umpteen fouls yesterday. That just wouldn't happen with one of ours.

I think he is more even handed when dealing with non-Manchester teams, but there is always that suspicion that he will do whatever he can in order to bring (directly or indirectly) a benefit to United. And he is clever enough, or good enough for it to be indecipherable to the casual observer.

*takes off blue-tinted glasses*

Thought the only thing Taylor got wrong yesterday was not booking Tanganga and the associated strangeness of calling Lloris over for the next foul after his final warning just to give him his final, final warning. Grealish booking was deserved. Got nowhere near the ball and would have taken Moura out if he hadn't jumped over the slide. Yellow all day in today's game.

I don't recall seeing live feed of the VAR HQ measuring the offside line in real-time. Now we only get a screenshot like in UEFA competitions and less transparency as a result especially with the new 'thicker' line is level rule change.

Taylor failed to book Tanganga 4 TIMES, but he didn't fail to book Grealish for his FIRST offence.

Can't understand why we don't "out" this crook for what he is
He should never be anywhere near the M/c / Trafford clubs games
Whatever his actual biases, it is amazing that someone born & raised in Manchester, regularly referees our (and Utd's) big games. And we certainly have a statistically poor record in games where he's been in charge.

I know the FA say Wythenshawe isn't in Manchester, but that is splitting hairs ... even Wythenshawe's own Wikipedia page says it is.
