Ref Watch

Time wasting all first half, a long injury, a substitution… 2 mins added on.

Time wasting all second half, two long injuries, two very long VAR decisions, six substitutes… 5 minutes added on (ended up being seven).

There should have been about 5 mins added on in the first half and 9 in the second. The time keeping in this sport is absolutely fucking pathetic!
Moss loved all the time wasting… he was blowing after 5 minutes. He wanted all the breaks he could get. How could he only add 2 mins at the end of the first half. Richards was down for over 3 !

Any decent referee gives the penalty but waits before producing a red card as he knows it will be reviewed....not this clown he could not wait to send Walker off and in doing so made himself look totally stupid.
In a week where Alty fan Taylor managed to wrongly send someone off it highlights how poor our refs are. I mentioned in the Rag thread for Young Boys, PR7 went down like he had been shot. Moss, Taylor and the rest would have given them a penalty, fortunately it was a foreign ref.
If he gives the pen he has to give the red card.

I’ve only seen the in-time VAR for the offside but was waiting for the line to move as it seemed to be locked on Foden’s shoulder rather than his arse, which it looked to be half way through. Then waited for the second line but nothing.

Has anybody got/seen the actual eventual call?

No. That makes him look double stupid. He can award the penalty and wait a few seconds knowing it will be reviewed.
If he believes it’s a penalty (which he did)!and thinks Walker has prevented goal scoring opportunity (which he thought he did)!then he has to produce a red, one follows the other. He couldn’t give the pen but not send him off in the instance we saw today

IF it had stood would it have been a 3 game ban. Thus ruling Kyle out of games against our so called rivals?

The cynic in me thinks that's why the fat **** went straight for it.
Think it would have been a one game ban for that offence.

You never know with PiGMOL. They gave the Chelsea lad a three game ban denying a goal scoring opportunity.

Doesn't matter in great scheme of things thank feck.

Needs some massive rule changes footy instead of pissing about with stupid things that change nothing.

Time keeping and stopping the game for fuck all injuries to start with.

A player can just decide to sit down so the game stops!

Thought they were gonna break out into a chorus of a well known James song today it happened so often, the title of the song escapes me :- )

The stoppage after the penalty and VAR decision on its own was at least 3-4 minutes, so the fact that without it there would only have been 1-2 minutes stoppage time is absolutely laughable. Never understood why they don't make timekeeping independent and transparent like in other sports, it would be really really easy to do.
Stoppage time is basically arbitrary anyway, if we were to add on the right amount of time (or just stop the clock for stoppages) we'd have about 30 mins of stoppage time per game and the players would be fucked. Then do we record it accurately and scale down the time? Seems its just made up atm

The penalty fiasco this afternoon is evidence enough that Moss is not of a suitable level to ref PL matches, mind you, who the fuckin' 'ell is of a suitable calibre. He was blowing for the pen and rippin' the pocket off his shorts before the pair had hit the turf. The fact that VAR sent the decision back to him is proof enough that he got it badly wrong. VAR wouldn't want to show up Jonny so they give him a second chance. However, an ounce of credit to the overblown whistling wanker - he did change his mind, but what would TV have shown? And, of course, there are the odd incidents throughout the match - blatant timewasting that goes, match in, match out, unpunished, unless yer Eddie and happen to pick up the ball after planting on the grass, the application of the advantage law for Soton in the first half, which came to nowt, but he drags 'em back and they are awarded the free - cake 'n 'apenny time. i always thought that the ref applied the advantage and the free kick was expunged! Seems that if the advantage doesn't lead to a goal yer get the free kick as a wee sweetener! And if VAR takes an interminable amount of time as they did with the offside it's indecisive, and the goal should have stood. Once FIFA have fucked around again with the offside law that goal would be legit.

Laid?

Don't often go after the ref and not one to jump on the agenda hype but today was a fucking disgrace.

I was gobsmacked at 2 mins added on for the first half and then 5 second?! Fucking criminal.

His lack of action against the time wasting in general was a joke.

Fuck off Moss you useless twat.

What summed up the state of officiating in this league for me was towards the end when Southampton were shielding the ball in the south west corner, ball goes out, right in front of the linesman and he looks at Jon Moss who’s 40 yards away!!

Around the same time they get awarded a free kick on their right wing for Ake clearing the ball but it hits a Southampton player in the face. Was baffled
