Ref Watch

In which case why was he not booked ?
Exactly what I said at the time, it was that dramatic it could only be a pen or a card, there was also no announcement that anything went to VAR on the big screens, which was totally different to the disallowed Mahrez goal, which was clearly offside, and was clearly displayed

Gundog was lucky not to have a fractured cheekbone or broken jaw after that assault today. To be fair to the defender I don't think he meant to do him quite like that but there was certainly intent to clatter into him. The directive for this season has been to allow a certain amount of contact but something like this incident is the direct result of that. It's going to end with someone seriously hurt and then we'll have the screaming for protection of the players again. We were winning 1-0 at half-time & I was still spitting feathers because of the officiating again. Only football can do this.

The first foul on Lewis by Nunez was worthy of a yellow but ref just gave him a talking to. He then allowed Grealish to again be kicked to kingdom come before finally getting out a card. Wolves fans derided him so much he gave one to Rodri for the merest shirt tug just to appease them. An absolute scandal that the penalty at the end of the first half wasn't given and was even thinking the one that we did get might've been ignored too. It was that blatant though I don't think he had much choice. Thankfully we went on for a comfortable win and pretty much made Coote irrelevant for the rest of the 2nd half.

Worst decision of the weekend was at Klanfield. Within the first 3 or 4 minutes Robertson wiped out a Chelsea player in the first 3 or 4 minutes with an ill timed challenge that appeared to be premeditated. However, the referee seemed to give him leeway as it was so early in the game. Fast forward a few hours and Palace defender Guehi committed a similar tackle albeit not as nasty and was given a yellow card after 3 minutes.
The inconsistency of how different teams are referred stinks.

That Robertson one was rough, he just booted the Chelsea player. No reason why he didn't get a card and would have made him wind it in

It’s about time the richest league in the world started hiring the best refs in the world.

the ones we have are, in the main, shit.

unless of course there is more to it than that
I believe there is more to it, there's no way that you would run such a valuable business by leaving it to pure chance with what look like completely incompetent idiots. So thats the clever bit isn't it, make it look like the officials are useless and then tell you that it evens itself out over the season, except it doesn't does it, is it just strange or subjective that certain teams in each country get all the luck, when the law of averages tell us that 50:50 decisions do even out.
So does that mean we are just bitter because 99% of the time we don't get the 50:50 decisions, and 99% of the time the rags, dippers, RM, Barca, BM, Juve etc do, and is it just the luck of the draw that we don't get penalty decisions and are our players that much tougher than other teams that it's OK to kick the sh!t out of them 10 times before the ref gives a yellow or heaven forbid a red card.
Does it also mean that we play under different interpretations of the laws of the game and each week have to listen to another laughable subjective view that contradicts the previous bullsh!t subjective view from the week before, and then just shrug it off that we have wrongly lost points in the PL or games in Cup competitions, or do we just call it what it is and face facts that the people in control are really not going to leave it to chance are they, its rotten to the core and corrupt as f***.

I have been looking for the definitive VAR photo which shows Mahrez was offside for his goal. Can anyone oblige? I was in the ground but didn't see it on the screen.

In the vast majority of our games, we are refereed to a different set of standards, and teams know it.

There is no way the Wolves player who smashed Gundo would ever have attempted that challenge against Salah at Anfield because he knows full well he'd be given his marching orders. Not so at City, where opposition players know that they aren't getting sent off in the first 15 minutes unless they decapitate someone, and even then it's 50/50.

Even dermot gallagher thought it was a foul on grealish!
Warnock thought it wasn’t given because the ref didn’t give a foul for wolves a few secs before and he knew he should have.
