Why do I keep hearing about the alleged Walker handball but nothing about the Alderweireld one?

That was one of the strangest refereeing performances I've seen.

He let a lot of tackles go without yellow card (Aguero & Fernandinho for us flew in and were lucky) but then blew for some nothing tackles. Somehow missed Bernardo being swept in the box. Allowed Rose to try and injure Sané then gave a niggly foul in the centre circle.

Really hard to figure out what he actually thought was a foul. If he's the gold standard of refs in the league, it shows how shite the standard is.

Debbie Harry studded Kyle Walker down the calf - no yellow card

Danny Rose forearmed Bernardo in the face - no yellow card, not even a free kick (even though the linesman flagged for one), the ref just gave a throw-in

Vertonghen squared up to Raheem after Raz just offered to help him up - no yellow card

Vertonghen pulled Raheem back in the half way line when he would have been through one-on-one with the ’keeper - no yellow card

Leroy was taken out down in the corner - no free kick

Bernardo was taken down in the first half - no penalty

A ridiculously poor performance by the ref yesterday!

There were more than that too, but that’s a half decent summary - the one on Leroy in the corner was a “double footer” too, how on god’s earth that wasn’t a free kick and a booking/red was crazy.

Didn’t Vertonghen go through Aguero in the second half with two feet off the ground scissoring into him. He got the ball but it was from behind and pretty dangerous.

I completely agree. It was all very odd. How he only gave 1 yellow for fouls in that game is strange

This is a good summary for me. I don't think he was biased or cheating, I think he was just shite.
