Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

The thing that got me when Coleman was into Haalands ear was that none of our players went to confront Coleman whilst he was doing it. I cant imagine any top sides players allowing that to go on for so long, with a player that has previous for this type of mouthing off, without getting involved. Instead our players left Haaland on his own.

Something City have done a few times oddly. I can remember when Lewis first broke into the team his teams just allowed the opposition to kick shit out of him. If I remember correctly Pep called the players out over the lack of protection they were giving Lewis

I always think that one of our players should slap our penalty taker across the face to make him angry just before he takes it and thus dispelling any nervousness. (Just don't let the ref see or they might get sent off :-)

We’re a very soft team.

We had a good run from when Kompany, de Jong, Kolarov and Vieira were signed, nobody fucked about with Yaya and up to when Fernandinho left - who took no nonsense from anyone from an opposition team… we now have a squad of nice lads.

I couldn’t disagree more. You don’t win 4 titles on the bounce because you’re soft.

99% of footballers are soft in the conventional sense of the word but that’s irrelevant. Flouncing muppets for whom posturing is as near to a real fight as they’ll ever get. But so what, football isn’t a combat sport.

Where it counts however we’re very hard mentally and very disciplined. What’s the point of a load of flouncing muppets pushing and shoving each other to show how “hard” they are when it merely results in bookings and sendings off. That’s not being hard. Real toughness is Grealish being kicked from pillar to post every game for three and a half seasons with minimal protection from the refs yet only losing his cool on a handful of occasions. That’s not a soft player. Same with KDB. Same with Erling. Same with many of our artists.

Far better to be like we are and keep our steely focus and determination to fight to the end like real men and win the real battle rather than engaging in a bit of handbags.

No injury time despite loads of subs. The fact the tie was over is irrelevant.
Happened quite a few times over the years to us. Today there were five second half goals and five separate subs breaks yet not a single minute added. Where in the laws of the game does it say a manager can shout ‘have mercy’ and the ref can blow.

He did well to let the game flow after the foul on the half way line on Doky. Let it go on for a while, eventually we scored and then he booked the Salford player. I thought he'd forget who it was, I had.

They, who ever they are, want us to believe the game is not corrupt and then last night happens.
The reason the ref did not add any time on had to be to save Salford further embarrassment.
That is corrupt.
What about those who had bet on 9-0 or like @richardtheref money on Barrack Mubama scoring 2.

Due to the score line it will be absolutely ignored but it is worrying. What is the cut off point where the ref no longer decided to follow the laws of the game because one team is losing? There wasn't one additional second.
