Regrouping of singers within the stadium

Returned my form hopefully this will all work out cos in all honesty the home match day experience where I sit is dire. Getting dragged down with the constant moaning of all around so let's hopefully get the same experience I get at the away games and make going to the home games a fun experience again

Interesting watching some crap Aussie football over the weekend and it was noticeable how noisy the crowd was. When the pictures cut to the crowd you could see why. Everyone who wanted to stand and sing was all in one stand, not split by levels and away fans and I would estimate that over 95% were male and at a quick scan most appeared to be under 30 or probably 25. Clubs in the UK are pricing out the youngsters who will scream and shout for 90 minutes in favour of the corporate clappy hands, half and half scarf type who will spend the money. Caught between a rock and a hard place

From a personal point of view I'm already thinking about how the club and 1894 are going to take this forward, where the main singers and song starters will be located within the blocks, will it be organized, will it be random, amount of flags on display, displays themselves,, how new songs are going to be introduced/started, and a host of other things related to the new singing section. Obviously I've got time to kill on a daily basis. :-)

Did anyone see the Place fans staying behind after the Liverpool game?(live on TV) About 50 of them in the bottom corner continued singing, even after the stadium was empty. TBH I don't think I could be arsed doing that.

I watched Palermo beat Napoli on Saturday night. The Palermo stadium was half empty, and there wasn't a roof, but boy did they make some noise. There singers were all located together in one corner. A good few hundred. They had quite a few fans waving large flags throughout the match. They must have been knackered at the end of the match.

Numbers looking really promising for this now - it's gonna be great next season!

There are still some who submitted interest though who haven't confirmed it, deadline is tomorrow night!

There has been mention of poorly attended games in Australia and the Palermo game as well as everyone's go to - Palace.

A mate of mine is a Palace die hard who goes home and away and has done for 20 years. I've been with him a few times and their atmosphere was largely non-existent aside from the odd positive away atmosphere. So their fans went off and similarly looked at how to improve things. This led to the hardcore all congregating in the lower corner of the Holmesdale stand next to the away fans.

That small congregation grew and was unified and increased on their promotion to the prem when they all got behind the team and embraced the fact they'd been promoted but were unlikely to stay up. Win or lose they supported the team and their songs then spread through the stand and then fans the other side of the away fans started singing with them and it made a huge difference.

We're going to have an incredible new tier - it's huge and with just a few hundred in the South Stand starting songs and singing it will lead to more and more joining in and moving to that stand over the years. If the noise really erupts from that stand, with the new roof it should help get fans in the surrounding blocks going.

I really do think this will lead to a much improved atmosphere at games!

I hope so too, and even if it doesn't right away, it will build and get bigger and better. I think this is the start of something big at City and I personally can't wait!

Yep.
and even if the CBS or North doesn't all sing, does it really matter to you when YOU are surrounded by hundreds of likeminded fans who do sing and make the noise?
So looking forward to it.

693 people got in touch about moving. 570 then came back with full details . Supporter numbers etc so that's the number committed to move.

More discussions with club to follow shortly

brilliant news. We need to make sure the fans sing non stop and not just be there to have " banter" with the away fans or to stand there in silence

Sent to my email.

Sure 1894 won't mind me posting this very encouraging and interesting update.

Well done to everyone involved.

We met with MCFC representatives last Thursday 26th February. We presented our confirmed list of names and the Club have fully sanctioned the new singing area. The Club are allowing us to set out the block as per the requests of those who have applied.

Initial indications are that we will be able to satisfy all requests. We were oversubscribed in the rear third of the stand so some people that said they would take 2nd choice of middle third of tier will find this to be the case. All those that requested middle and front thirds of Stand will be accommodated. Also specific requests for “Aisle seats”, “near away fans”, “not near away fans” etc. should be fine.

We are still waiting for final block layouts from MCFC, they are still working to precisely locate the Block 114 segregation zone. Once they provide finalised block layouts we will set everything out and the MCFC ticket office will then process the move.

We were hoping to have this process finished by this Friday but in the absence of the finalised block layouts it is hard to put a fixed time on completion.

In the meantime please bear with us, the wheels are fully in motion and further updates will be sent out as soon as we have more information

Is it too late to take any more? Think I'm too noisy for CB 325 (my season card seat) and CB 222 (when invited as a guest) where I usually sit.

seriously if people are going in there just for that then theres no point. we are just gonna end up with people having shit banter with away fans like we have now. We just need people to support the team

I've fully backed the singing section and am a member of the 1894 group however I haven't added my name to the relocation list as I'm happy in 112, next to the away fans and most of us sing and stand.... Will the new singing block be next to us in the kippax corner anyway, so its pointless us moving?
