Serious question for you Skashion, are you a Muslim or someone related to a Muslim, or in fact are you yourself from the middle east or Asia ?

I don't mean anything nasty by asking that I'm just curious.
I'm not going to answer but thanks for asking.

Having had the dubious pleasure of your company, I can confirm you are a really nice lad

I am intrigued by the idea of how the bite of the forbidden apple from the tree is actually symbolic of a DNA mixing event between extraterrestrials and early hominids, giving hominids a new found ability to acquire intelligence.

It's like the birds and the bees way of extraterrestrials saying, well, we reconfigured your dioxyribose nucleic acid chain by adding new RNA on the nth chain of your DNA tree, do....you....understand???

There is just a big gap in the evolution of intelligence that what is more plausible is outside interference. We have been living with apes for many centuries and none so far have shown as much capacity to develop further intelligence, while we humans seem to become more intelligent in leaps and bounds.

That right there, is probably the dumbest thing I've read in the cellar for quite some time.

While I agree that apes appear to have shown little capacity to develop further compared to us I would add that our intelligence has not meant our species coming on in leaps and bounds. We havd s section of society now that can only dream of aspiring to be apes.

If it is you'll be able to give me the sources of data then. Also, why does it ignore scientific advances made in the Islamic world during the Middle Ages? Why too, has it not labelled the Renaissance, the Christian Renaissance, as the Renaissance was substantially funded by Christian patronage? It's a graph that's very clearly biased against religion. That's before we even get to problem of assigning qualitative importance of scientific advances that allow us to plot a graph.

I have been pondering on the significance of this question for some time now, and am still none the wiser as to it's relevance to the thread.
Some of the most interesting, enlightening and rewarding conversations I have ever had regarding religion have been with Muslims, whereas some of the most ignorant bigots I have ever had the misfortune to converse with have been indigenous protestants, catholics and atheists.

i'm somewhere in the middle of that lot. I don't believe there is a god of any kind but I do believe there was once a hell of a nice fella who everyone got on with, helped people and that. perhaps the romans were jealous of his popularity so they strung him up.

all that said who/what/ which made the human body in its present form was a right cleaver fucker.

I think we have always had good folk throughout history mate, be they Jesus, or Ghandi, or Martin Luther King, or whoever.
The trouble is we have, as you correctly point out, the nasty habit of killing these gurus, whereas the bad guys tend to flourish and get all the power.
The human body is indeed an incredibly complex piece of work, except for Mrs Fetlocks, who is singularly lacking anything resembling intelligent design, and is living proof that even God can have a bad day at the office.
