Remembering Yaya!

As a club legend I prefer Andy Morrison over Toure any day of the week.

Like Goater, Morrison is a cult hero. He made the best of his average talent and led the club through a difficult spell.

Where do we put Kompany, Zabaleta etc? You name a stand after a legend. Give them a statue.

The one thing Aguero is missing is a career defining season. His consistency is completely unrivalled, but I think a season where he got 30+ league goals would greatly enhance his legacy outside the Manchester City fan base.

Yaya has that in 13/14. People can remember a time when he was the best midfielder in the world bar none, and as a starting point for discussions I think that helps him a lot.

The only reason he hasn't got that 30+ league goal season is solely due to injuries, that's why his minute to goal ratio is so high. I don't think that takes anything away from Aguero; his numbers would indicate that he was more than capable of having that season if he had played all the games. I don't think he's ever played more than 33 games in a league season which has stopped him.

Statues are old hat now aren't they? There are only 4 sides to a stadium so only 4 players get a mention, when a world great comes along do we nudge a legend to one side to make way? Back to the point though and legends (If we want to use that word) don't need to be the best player they have to be the best player they could be whilst loving the club as much as the fans do.

Pretty pathetic response, showing your lack of class and deep lack of intelligence. It was pious not precious in my earlier post but you're obviously too stupid to have realised
You’ve condoned drink driving and unfounded, false accusations of racism because someone can kick a ball and you’ve got the nerve to question my intelligence and lack of class, oh yeah I completely see your point now!! ;)

I’m just watching the LC final against Sunderland as there isn’t much else to watch.

What an amazing goal by Yaya and as I was right in line with him when he struck it I was running up and down the aisle like a mad man when it went in.

The best City goal I’ve seen since I first started watching us in 1962.

For three or four years there, he was absolutely outstanding for us. Easily up there alongside the usual suspects when legends are being considered. However, his last couple of seasons were very much an anti climax from the highs he had achieved. I won't even bother going into the off the field nonsense (both while he was at the club and after he'd played his last game for us) , we all know about that and we all have our opinions on how that has affected his legacy.

Watch yourself, the bloke can fight... :-)
