Remembering Yaya!

No, not even close. He splits City fans pretty much 50/50, a legend is someone who is loved by everyone (taking away the odd exception).

Zabaleta, Kompany, Aguero, Silva all the way back in my lifetime anyway to the likes of Kinkladze, Rosler, Goater, Benarbia. They're all unilaterally loved and adored by City fans, that's what makes a true legend. It's not just about ability.
Yeah.i see your point ctid...i guess im trying to say that Yaya should be more respected, over and above the players you mention..due to the magnitude of his achievements, over many countries, languages and cultures....before he ended up ripping up the premier league with Manchester City..to be able to play Football at the highest level in Africa France Russia and Spain...and to then come England..and be the best player..thats class.Thats talent.
At the end of the day. Yaya was a legend before he joined club...i suppose its about how we as City fans regard him now....

He was unquestionably brilliant on his day but a complete wanker. Playing the racist card against Pep was disgusting. No City legend behaves like that.

Club legend - is a person who embodies all the club and supporters belief and ritual. He or she has provided exceptional performances in games when the team is in trouble. He or she has shown reasonable unwavering loyalty to the club. He or she identifies with the club after leaving. He or she hasn't spoken or communicated anything to the media that will damage the clubs image.

Yaya Toure - 316 Apps 79 Goals 50 Assists

Yaya arrival at Manchester city started a dream in supporters heart that city could one day be an elite club. And with his arrival came other upcoming elite players like David Silva.

Yaya has produced mind-blowing performances in city colours. There isn't any doubt about that and we love to sing the Yaya Toure songs.

His best seasons were from 2013 to 2015 and during that period Mancity supporters thought he was the best player in the premier league.

He was a player that always appeared on the big occasions. Although after those previous seasons his influence on the game started to decrease.

Then came Pep in 2016 with a revolutionary way of playing the game which saw a decrease in his playing time and this reignites the conflict between manager and player.

Which they had in Spain at FC Barcelona that led to Yaya transferring to Manchester City FC.

After leaving Mancity Yaya claimed that Pep treated him differently from all the other players both in Barcelona and Manchester.

Yaya also insinuated it was because of his skin colour.

This insinuation at the time had divided the Supporters opinions of him and stripped him of his club legend status.

I do however believe that Yaya Toure is a club legend because his rhetoric after leaving wasn't against the club but at an individual manager.

An absolute legend. Yaya was one of the best players to pull on the blue shirt. We were very lucky to see him at his best.

So what? Lots of players do.George best is a legend for utd despite his alcohol problems, and letting his team mates down by not even turning up for matches.who gives a fuck what players do off the pitch. When considering pure Football talent ...just look at the player.on the pitch.Yaya Toure is a legend, and the greatest player ever to play football in this country, never mind City..imo.

Not even the greatest to play for City, let alone the country. Fantastic for 4 years though. Shame he ruined it for many with his off field antics. Glad we finally got a strong enough manager in to curb it from him for a while.

Well if that doesn't put a smile on your face in these trying times. Nothing will!
Fucking steamroller. Loved him.
Me n’all.

My Rag mates/colleagues always used to fear Yaya the most out of any City player. That tells you all you need to know about how good he was. He struck fear into the opposition!

Wow....just Wow.....so what if Yaya’s agent said one or two mean things?

Absolutely ZERO fucks given.

The man was above all ALL our recent legends on his day......ALL OF THEM.

When in the mood the perfect description of him was unplayable.

A beast, a monster, our hero, our behemoth, our go-to player, the ‘one’.

These players are paid to play football, not run a PR department.

Who’s to say that club and the hierarchy didn’t shaft him in some way once he was on the decline, shit happens.

But his God like status will remain forever in my eyes.
