Repercussions - From the PL, FA, UEFA and within the Club

I don't see how the PL can sanction the teams involved. What was announced was a threat to a UEFA competition and if UEFA leave it without sanctions the PL would look like a bunch of vindictive wannabes to proceed with any action.

Yes I see Keir Starmer has been going about the 50 plus one rule. The rule which has destroyed the Bundesliga for everyone except Bayern and its client club Dortmund. Bayern have total control of football in Germany. It is a disgrace and most German fans despise them.
There's a difference between a fan understanding the 50+1 rule and a politician making a point without any understanding of the inherent difficulties.

No fines, no points deductions, nothing whatsoever. Fortunately nothing of that nature would stand up in court because, at least in western Europe, it isn't wrongdoing to say you're going to do something and then not do it. And even the wise men of UEFA, at least those who don't work for Manchester United, can see the UEFA has flirted with disaster and a spirit of revenge won't help. UEFA will have to re-establish itself by sensible governance, not repeated trips to CAS.

I am amused by the strong moral tone taken by some infrequent visitors on here. They clasp their puritanical hands as they intone that part of the litany that tells us that money is the root of this problem. And greed. Tell that to the Sheikh, who rescued the club from impending administration, invested handsomely to breath new life into it and has made us into one of the world's biggest clubs, with money playing a sizeable part in the transformation. On the other hand, even the most cursory scan of the list of other ESL clubs confirms that these are indeed the biggest clubs in football - if we mean the clubs with the biggest debts in the game. To that extent it was all about money. And so today we see Barca and Real clinging on desperately in the hope "something will turn up". The reds in England are stuffed and discredited, along with Spurs and Agnelli has led his merry men to disaster. City, perhaps embarrassed but still unscathed can afford a cheery smile today, knowing it is a wonderful day and everything is going our way.

But the big cigar goes to the poster who wants Khaldoon to make a video similar to that nice Mr Henry. Khaldoon would never dream of treating our fans to a performance at all like that mendacious, insincere, platitudinous drip treated that coach busting scum to.

So good to read a sensible post from a true blue

UEFA sounds like they'll be VERY forgiving which is good. We've already qualified, and even if 20 point deductions were issued by the PL we'd still be 3rd place!

It's all down to the Premier League now I think - as much as Wolves/Leicester/West Ham and Everton need the bigger clubs to generate TV revenue, will they push for punishment?? Or was it just about rightly protecting the CL places. It may well be the latter. I'm sure other factors will come into play - like the 6 might try to pressure changes in the league at the next round of renewals. Something has to give with more UEFA CL games in a few years!
What are the premier league going to punish us for?

Section L9 of the Premier League's handbook states that member clubs shall not enter or play in extra competitions without the prior written approval of the league's board.

If we've signed a contract to enter said competition, did we obtain prior approval? A view could be we've not entered the competition; ie played a game so maybe we get off on a technicality.

Still p*ssed off that the club have put us in this position where we as fans and the staff/manager and players just don't know how far this will run on for. Let's hope by next week this is put to bed.

Suppose it's got mirrors of CAS again... UEFA don't punish and PL bluster fades away into the distance.

That’s a stretch. It won’t run much longer than the weekend. We won’t get off on a technicality, nobody will be charged with anything.

When you see some of our own fans wanting new rules to be made up to punish us you just have to wonder if something has been put in the water. I mean it’s not like FFP was made up as well as new rules within it when we were due to clear it first time around.

I know a Chunk of our fan base can’t really handle the recent success and will willingly slag the club off to all and sundry but this self harming turn of events is just fucking madness.

The players and staff of which there a lot have done absolutely nothing wrong to deserve anything but our support and belief and not points deducted.
