Repercussions - From the PL, FA, UEFA and within the Club

When you see some of our own fans wanting new rules to be made up to punish us you just have to wonder if something has been put in the water. I mean it’s not like FFP was made up as well as new rules within it when we were due to clear it first time around.

I know a Chunk of our fan base can’t really handle the recent success and will willingly slag the club off to all and sundry but this self harming turn of events is just fucking madness.

The players and staff of which there a lot have done absolutely nothing wrong to deserve anything but our support and belief and not points deducted.
Social Media outrage is a thing now. Almost an industry in itself.

Nothing will happen , UEFA , Premier league , FIFA , CAS , PFA none of them will have the bottle to penalise the six highest profile clubs and the six of some of the richest clubs in europe , the scheming six will carry on as normal and all the bullshit around the superleague will soon be forgotten.
The owners may get stiff letter from various associations and told not to do it again, a slap on the wrist , we move on.

Some of the reaction has been quite comical

They would only want beheadings if the Rags and the Dippers hadn't been involved.

So basically they've stumped themselves, because of their love/need of the big fat red cash cows

Emotion comes into it a fair bit. People felt angry and betrayed. The time of the announcement through to the withdrawal was short. People have had to process lots of information too. Even myself - felt let down and a bit worried that after CAS, that our chairman might have fucked things up unfairly for the players and fans alike. Now the dust has settled a bit I feel better on that side of things that maybe any sanctions won't be that bad - like many have said to protect the game and the league. On the back of Covid I don't think they can have a disruptive season next year. They'll want to get back to normal asap.

I thought the CAS case was the messiest saga we'd ever face, this might just top it. When the dust settles and the ESL disbands officially, we could be facing sanctions along with the 12 that signed up. Would you agree this could be likely?

Points deduction from league
Suspended season from CL

Now for the more difficult conversation - should someone be held to account in our club - I assume Khaldoon is the man that will be in the firing line. Should he step aside?
NO! We have committed no crime punishable by any of these!
NO! He played a blinder IMO........................... and shame on you for even uttering this!!

The only punishment I advocate is for us to beat every one of the other 5 miscreants by at least 6 goals next season for daring to drag us into this mess!

Our players and 99.9% of the staff at City deserve our support now. They were not the ones who got us into this mess. IMHO

And I agree about the angry and betrayed but actually wanting your own team banned or points deducted just so you can look good on whatever Facebook/WhatsApp banter pages they are on is not the sign of a rational person for me. As disquieting as this has been in a few years it will just another stitch in the tapestry and might qualify for a chapter in Gary James latest book.

Meanwhile let’s pile on to the Pre Match thread for even more thrombosis and collective fuckwhittery when Pep starts with Mendy and Raz ;-)
