Replacements for Mario and Tevez

Now that Tevez is off.. Surely Dzeko will be staying right?

Will we go with 3 strikers or 4? Who will be brought in to add to Sergio and Dzeko?

Top strikers still available in the market:

- Cavani: we have reportedly dropped interest. He seems headed to Chelsea.
- Suarez: wants to leave England, wants Madrid
- Lewandowski: wants BayernMunich, apparently turned us down already
- Higuain: Arsenal bound
- Rooney: Rags won't sell to us
- El Sharaawy: ?
Need another striker. And maybe 2 because I don't rate Dzeko and Aguero together. More accurately I don't think Dzeko can play effectively in our team. He has shown flashes of brilliance but more often than not he disappoints. He doesn't suit tippy tappy Silva football. And he runs our games.

Bayern have a big target man up front in mandzukic or Gomez. But Barca could never have that

maybe we will evolve as a team, but if we do that we'll probably have a big dip in form and results if we make any big changes in our set up

Realistically I only see Cavani as the only real option. Players like Jovetic, Negredo etc wouldn't exactly be upgrades and in fact be downgrades. Higuain/Lewa/Cavani/Suarez would be the only upgrades and the easiest to pull off in that list is Cavani.

agreed with the four you entioned, but we are never going to pay napoli anymore than 40-5m for cavani.

That's why I fear we will sign a downgrade. Tevez, though getting older,is a world class player and finding players of that caliber is difficult . If we want a player that is world class we need to pay big and I.doubt that considering we didn't want to pay 25M for Isco.

We don't need any. We had a ridiculous amount of strikers. München have 3, Dortmund have 2, Madrid have 3, Barça have 0. In the first half of last season we had 5. We didn't need that many, we don't need anymore than the three we have.

-- Tue Jun 25, 2013 10:21 pm --

We can expect at least one big name striker now. Get the farcical Isco nonsense done either way, then focus on a striker. Should be exciting.
Farcical? Two clubs want a player. Neither have got him yet. One is much bigger than the other and is from the country he's from and he's said that excites him, and the other is an up and coming club who could pay him just as well but can offer him a starting place and a manager he thinks of as his football father; which is why the lad has kept his cards close to his chest so far and why the media keep trying to spin stories on it.

That is not a farce!

I think we do need one, last season we fell short because of a lack goals. Tevez made chances and he's a world class player and we're weaker without him.

Aguero misses hatfuls of chances and is injured a fair bit, plus would anyone really want to rely on Dzeko to come up with 30 goals a season? Guidetti unproven at this level.

We need a top class goalscorer with proven ability in this league or at CL level. Those don't come cheap, obviously, so it'll be an interesting measure of our ambition to see who we sign. Personally I wish we'd pay what it takes for Cavani. I think we'll need him.
