Having our night off and Liverpool and Chelsea have both progressed into the semi final, giving them extra games in early January when Afcon is on; covid's still about, and Chelsea and Liverpool both have to play each other and Chelsea come to the Etihad in early/mid January. Add to that Leicester fluffed it from 3-1 up at Liverpool before losing on penalties gives Brendan Rogers a hell of a job lifting his shower of posers for the boxing day game against us.
All in all, a great night.

I do not see why tonight’s results helped us at all. People said the same last year with Chelsea’s fa cup commitments and race for top four. Similarly winning the Carabou Cup has never affected our chances of winning anything, in fact I think it has had the opposite effect.
