Return of Supporters

This isn’t fuckin Watchdog, nobody really cares about poor customer service and poor communication - you’re just gutted, like I am, that you didn’t get a ticket.

In this extraordinary time where City can lay serious claim to being the best run club in the world and seem to do everything better than everyone else it’s ever so slightly reassuring to middle aged blues brought up the Peter Swales way to see that the “cups for cock ups” part of our dna hasn’t completely left us.

I applied for 4 only got 3 emails all acc have a separate e-mail address
Was that on a group application, all S/card holders? If so all of you should be eligible to buy as you only had one entry in the ballot, as a group.

Supporters cannot enter the ballot as part of a group, and then as an individual. You can only enter a match ballot once, and the ballot will be drawn so that everyone within the same group (ballot entry) would be successful.

If the club has a system which is able to track successful applications and notify people by email, then it will be also able to notify the unfortunate people who don’t get a ticket. It’s just poor form on City’s part not to, and bad business too given that it would cost nowt to do. I’ve even drafted them an email for them to use;

“Dear supporter,

Thank you for your application for the ticket ballot for the Everton home game. Unfortunately you have not been successful this time, but please continue to apply for future ballots and we hope we can welcome you to the Etihad in the near future. Thanks again for your continued support”.

Not that difficult is it?

I think your missing the point. Many people haven’t known for the last few hours whether they have a ticket or not. It’s only when it got so late in the day that they are assuming they don’t. The club said today they were notifying people either way and they haven’t. Dress it up however you like but it’s fucking poor and would not have taken much.

At the very least they could have sent a generic email to say we’ve now concluded the ballot, people have been notified that they have been successful or if they are on the reserve list but if you haven’t received one of those emails then unfortunately you weren’t successful.

None of us going a few months ago and it’s a bit of surprise we are back in.

For ones who can’t go, it’s been a season of it and for those who can...ENJOY!!

City have a CL to look forward to and as a fan base very little to complain about!!

So just move on, getting an email telling you you’ve not been successful isn’t going to make you feel better.

Supporters who are unsuccessful will be placed in a balloted ‘reserve pot’ and notified in advance, by e-mail, of the ‘reserve pot’ and sales window. From Monday 17th May, if tickets remain unsold after the 48 hour window has closed, supporters in the ‘reserve pot’ will have the opportunity to purchase tickets until such time the tickets are sold out. There is no guarantee that the opportunity to buy will be offered to the ‘reserve pot’.

I'm just going with what City put in their FAQ's and accepting I didn't even make it to the 'reserve pot'

Even if I had, I wouldn't have been able to log on at 9am Monday morning anyway.

Never mind, just enjoy the moment all those that have been successful! Have a great day.

They'd have been next to zero complaints if they had just done this by points as any other non-season card game. They'll be so many people who haven't missed a game for years that have gotten used to not going over this last year and for numerous different reasons might be reconsidering how committed they are to attending football post pandemic. All this does is alienate all those that miss out and drive them a little bit closer to not coming back. After a massive own goal with the ESL, another kick in the balls should have been avoided at all costs.

100% agree with this

Me and several other blues I know haven’t had an email. I would not be complaining in any way if I’d had an email to say I was unsuccessful. My dads had a season ticket for over 50 years and doesn’t qualify via the 22,000 points and even he would have accepted missing out via ballot without issue if the club had the decency to communicate that as they said they would earlier today.

What annoys me are 'vlog' makers who have used their channels to get tickets in lockdown.
Cheesy is massive fan and deserves to be there for the Everton game, but just like those with more than 22000 points, not because he was once employed by the club and fans like him.
The others I'm yet to be convinced.
I've had a season ticket for over 35years, did 100s of 'aways' in 80s and 90s, done the platinum (what a con that was) and had season cards for my kids.
There'll be those who say they've 'earned' the right, by going away accumulating points in the last 10 years, but, like many, I have a family, mortgage and bills to pay.
I know there'll be others like me, but not to get a ticket is a massive kick in the bollox.
