Return of Supporters

I think your missing the point. Many people haven’t known for the last few hours whether they have a ticket or not. It’s only when it got so late in the day that they are assuming they don’t. The club said today they were notifying people either way and they haven’t. Dress it up however you like but it’s fucking poor and would not have taken much.

At the very least they could have sent a generic email to say we’ve now concluded the ballot, people have been notified that they have been successful or if they are on the reserve list but if you haven’t received one of those emails then unfortunately you weren’t successful.
I feel their pain, I was checking my email from last night at midnight to today when we kicked off. Who knows why the fuck a multi billion pound organisation can’t email their most loyal customers to inform them of important news - it shouldn’t happen but that’s part of the charm of the old City we grew up with so for me I take it as a chance to reminisce about the old days.

I’d rather we were brilliant at pretty much everything else and rubbish at customer service than the other way round

What's your rationale for saying they should all go to a ballot?

It's just arbitrary saying those over a certain amount get a ticket and the rest go into a ballot.

It's the first home game for over a year so every season card holder deserves an equal chance to get a ticket for a game like this in my view. With so many missing out, a ballot for all the tickets would have been the fairest solution.

And there's nothing particularly fair about loyalty points. The loyalty points scheme is relatively new. If the scheme had been going since I got my first season ticket, I'd have many tens of thousands of loyalty points. I'm sure there are people who have less loyalty points than me that would do that would have more if we had always had the system, just as there will be people who have more that wouldn't if the system had stared sooner.

The only trophy lift I've missed since 1970 was the recent Carabao Cup one and that was only because I was excluded from buying a ticket due to my post code. Thankfully I won't miss this one.

A friend of mine got a ticket today he is a season ticket holder since "last season" first season ever being a season ticket holder before that he didn't even have a member card.

How the fuck does that work?

I’ve got a ticket but a couple of my good mates haven’t and I’m gutted for them and I’m thinking of sacking my ticket and meeting them in town for a beer and watching the game on the telly instead.
Much as I love the club and Sergio my mates mean more to me so if you’re in the reserve pot you might just get lucky.
Up the blues and goodnight.

The thing is, this season nobody’s had a season ticket, nobody’s seen a game (except League Cup Final) and we have all been suffering the same pandemic. Maybe the club thought in this special season that everybody deserved an equal shot at the end prize. I’ve no complaints despite missing out on the ballot.

Lack of respect from the club not to ensure emails to unsuccessful applicants is not issued at the same time as the successful applicants. Applied via ballot and have received nothing, I get it was a ballot and there has to be losers but at least have the respect to tell us considering we have been starved of attending a football match for the last 16 months nearly.
I believe it just as important to the people who were unsuccessful as the ones whose were successful.
Not sour grapes, would feel the exact same if I was successful
Exactly this.

@Prestwich_Blue how can you defend this from the club ? Seriously it’s a disgusting way to treat loyal supporters.

Can’t even be arsed to let people know either way.

Club couldn’t give a shit about us.

Look lads and lasses it is what it is...please don’t be falling out amongst ourselves over this. We are City fans, part of the City family.
I was also in the cohort that almost had 22,000 and didn’t get a ticket but c’est la vie. I have the consolation that because of supporting City I have travelled all over Europe, even celebrating the birth of my Great-Granddaughter on a European trip in a Christmas market in Germany! Any City fan I bumped into that day heard about it as well!
There’s nothing we can do about it and I can appreciate it’s frustrating but you win some, you lose some.
It’s like I said the other day, I’ve had a Premium Bond since 1956 and never won a penny so I just knew I wouldn’t win a ticket. :-)
Please don’t be falling out. Let’s just be happy that we’re still on course for a treble and we won a match tonight.
Sorry to be a Pollyanna but life’s too short. :-) :-)
