Copenhagen was a tad chilly
That is understatement of the century, I remember us all being stood there thinking we’d freeze to death unless we kept moving, actually jogged on the spot whilst watching the game to keep blood flowing, it was fucking arctic.

We left with a couple of minutes to go (never do that normally) and there was a taxi waiting outside so didn’t need to walk back to the station in the snow. Could have kissed him was so happy to see him!

The club were talking about moving to mobile ticketign well before Covid. But the point has been made by our over-65 rep, backed up by the rest of us, that not all older people have the right technology or even any technology at all. And given that we probably have an older fan demographic than most, that's going to be a problem they'll need to deal with or they could be falling foul of discrimination legislation.

I presume it is being used to save money somewhere?

The problem is it just adds stress for a lot of people when going to a game of football which is supposed to be a pleasant experience......well aside from the stress of the actual game lol.

Another problem with this sort of technology is phones are not all compatible with it and are changing all the time. You buy the latest best thing since sliced bread and a month later it's out of date and what used to work doesn't. It should be a choice never mandatory. Why should somebody having spent £600+ then have to pay another few hundred pounds for a new phone that uses the technology the club imposes on them to gain admission to games they have already paid for?

I understand for youngsters who grow up with all the latest technology and constantly change their phones for the latest models this will be a breeze and they'll love it. For many it's a pain

I was lucky enough to be drawn in the ballot, obviously I was overjoyed after so long without going to a game. Then I was hit with this mobile ticketing thing. I had to download something I didn't want on my phone, Google pay and once I got that done it was easy. I can see my ticket in there with a barcode, but now I have the stress of not knowing if it will work on the day as I'm not sure if my phone has this NFC facility. I'm hoping as I can show the ticket and will have my photographic Id that if it doesn't operate the turnstile a staff member will be able to swipe me in but it's additional stress.

Hopefully in your meetings with them you can raise our concerns and reign the futuristic geeky whizz kids in a bit. What was wrong with a voucher sheet and vouchers lol?

Simple. Loyalty points. I’ve got 19k and not missed a single home game in 27 years. I used to do all sways but chose family over that. No beef whatsoever with those con more points who’ve continued to do home and away. But we’ve a so called rep who said we shouldn’t have rewarded loyalty. Hence people on 12, 8, 0 points getting tickets. Fucking horse shit
The trouble with attitudes like this is you're conflating 'loyalty' with 'has enough spare cash'.
There's plenty of people in this thread who think that because they've had all these amazing away trips to Europe and fantastic memories from great away days with their mates that means they're more 'loyal' or makes them 'real fans' as if going to football games is some kind of chore akin to national service.
Who's more loyal, the people on here complaining that they've had to arrange holidays around the football schedule or the person who has to choose between actually having a holiday or having a season card?
Equality feels like oppression to the privileged.

The walk back to the centre wasn’t much fun after the game.

Does anyone know why it was limited to 10,000 when they allowed Wembley to be one quarter full? Using that precedent they should have allowed 13,500.
This may have already been answered, so apologies if so.

The FA Cup final was used as a test event for the Euros and isn’t linked to the league games. It was also the second game with fans at Wembley, so they had some idea of how it would work with more fans.

The 10k limit for these games allow every club to work out how to have more at the start of next season.

I agree with all of that and I'd add that it's not just older people that don't want Google or Apple Pay on their phones. For example, my 26 year old daughter who always buys Apple products and works in IT doesn't use Apple Pay.

There is probably a very young group that uses pay apps but I'd say it's nowhere near a majority of smartphone owners. Why should we be forced into having these apps in order to go to a game?

If he has 19k points and not missed a home game for 27 years I'd say that's shown a great degree of loyalty to the club as for "spare cash" that's a bit of an assumption maybe it's how he directs his money.
