Return of Supporters

50% in theory leaves every other seat free, and I think they're allowing up to 50% from today (if the ground holds less than 4,000 in tier 2 or 8,000 in tier 1). Its up to 50% or capped at 4k, 2k, or 0 depending on the tier. I think it depends on plans/layout of each venue though.

The issue isn't the stadium, its how you organise getting 25-30k in and out of the ground, but the increases are likely to be incremental to control that.
Under the SGSA guidance smaller ground say 5k will only be allowed about 1,500 despite the government allowing up to 50% or 2/4k. Probably not going to be an issue for any ground 6k plus though.

Personally I’m prepared to write this season off,
It’s going to be difficult if you want to attend with friends and family, we could end up with a vaccined stand and a none vaccined stand ;)
seriously I think it’ll be a logistical nightmare spoken to a few of the lads who I go with and their of the same thinking . We’ve come this far there’s no point in rushing ( although I get why some want their fix) let’s see where the vaccine gets us and hopefully come August it’s game on.

side note there’s a few I know who won’t return as they’ve found different interests and some have realised how much ££ they’ve saved but each to their own on that one.

50% capacity is still less than 1m distancing. should be 30% at most. i know its a finacial and social pressure in order for clubs and most of football to survive but id rather have pubs open with spacing

Watched the local news last night and the piece about Southport's game. How dumb are football fans? Told before the game that the conditions for entry was - mask keep 2 mtr apart and what do a sizable number do? They take their masks of and congregate in groups. If those making decisions saw that it's clearly going to influence when fans will be allowed back in any serious numbers

Don't think we'll get to 100%, but think we can get to 30-50% by the end of the season
I don't see why there's any need for isolation once the over 50's have been vaccinated which is the last vulnerable group on the list. If the Pfizer vaccine protects against illness, which the trials suggest it does, what is the point of isolation once the at risk population are vaccinated? There is none as far as I can see.

So it is a question of how quickly vaccination proceeds.

There is a lot of irrational fear because that is how society is now and that's marked discussion of this illness from beginning to end. Remember the topic on here about the return of football?

But your post is exactly why i don't see i'll ever get back to a stadium. As once the over 50s are vacccinated the majority will just think it doesn't matter now and everyone can do as "normal". Well as a 45 year old with what i consider health issues but my GP surgery don't (fatigue, arthritis, and more), i won't be given the vaccine, and the people under 50 who have died, many who had no exsiting health issues yet they died (see the news), those people don't matter? So once the over 50s have been vaccinated let's let everyone is and all hang out as normal, as the rest of you wont die from it? How do you know you wont die from it? And regarding the vaccines they have been quiet and when pushed admit they do not know if the vaccine stops you getting it and therefore will dramatically reducce transmission - OR - if the vaccine will just stop you getting very ill if you do catch it but therefore you can still pass it on, so it will still be in large tranmission.
I am desperate for a vaccine, for my 77 year old mum, my 50 year old partner, but also for me. I'm more ill than my partner, but he will get it becasue of his age.
We can't as a population just suddenly think oh well the vulnerable have been done so lets carry on - everyone shuld be done. Everyone. Only then should we fully get to carry on, until then masks and distancing is the way. I'm afraid no one will...

I'm sorry you're ill. Can you get a vaccine after phase 1?

Public behaviour relates to risk at population level.

It looks weird as fuck but it’s also nice too see fans back. But the world has gone mad, you easily get 5/10 thousand there

Nothing off city about fans returning. The silence is deafening

If as expected we move to tier 2 on 16th December there will be 2,000 city fans inside the Etihad on boxing day

Unless of course they've already decided who will be offered a seat.. the ones with fat wallets

Been talking to the club tonight about this. They've been putting a lot of work in, in anticipation of fans being allowed back, albeit in very limited numbers (2000 in Tier 2 and only 4000 in Tier 1 areas)

Something will be going out next week but we've still one or two things to sort out. And everyone who is either a seasoncard holder or Cityzens Matchday member will have a chance of a ticket and no doubt plenty will whinge about that. And will whinge about having to have photo ID. Or having to queue. Or having their temperature taken, giving contact details, filling in medical forms, not being able to sit where they want, etc, etc, etc.

Plus there's no guarantee we'll be out of Tier 3 in 2 weeks time anyway. If we aren't then no one is going until we are.

Wrong thread.

PB.

Can you shed anymore light on the new advertising boards being installed on L1, and fans being moved again? What's the motivation behind this, bar increasing revenue, and reducing the stadium capacity, meaning fewer City fans can watch the team in the future.

We were told about it yesterday. I've no idea whether it involves increased revenue and they wouldn't tell us anyway. I don't like fans being moved for any reason. other than a very good one.

Personally I think those extra rows they put in at the front are shit, and smacked of money-grabbing. I wouldn't have one but it's no consolation if you have one of those and are being moved.

As I said to someone else, there's nothing we could do about this but we can try to ensure that fans are treated fairly and equitably. The people moved to make way for the Tunnel Club got 2 seasons at their old price and i'd like to see these people get the same, particularly given the precedent set by the Tunnel Club.

I suspect there'll be plenty of unused seats to choose from next season anyway.

As per usual we're scratching around looking for how a return of supporters might work and fed off scraps from PB and others. North London derby this weekend. Here's how Spurs are leading the way and informing their fans.

Well they would as they can do it this weekend, we can't so what's your point.

Fucking £65 to sit in a freezing empty stadium wearing a mask. Spurs just ripping off their fans as usual. And before anyone mentions that they need the revenue with their huge stadium debt the Spurs owner (Joe Lewis) could have paid for the stadium out of his back pocket and given free tickets to local-based Spurs fans who live in one of the poorest areas in the UK.

Erm maybe because they have no idea if/when we will be able to have supporters back?
