Richard Dunne {merged}

Re: To: City Re: Richard Dunne

Over the top in my opinion.

Time has moved on!!! Dunne has agreed personal terms and Hughes said it was down to him - he could stay but not be guaranteed first team football, like any other player.

He's been a cracking servant to the club, but city are going onto bigger and better things.

Re: To: City Re: Richard Dunne

It shouldn't come as a surprise, he stated in an interview a few weeks back that had no desire to leave and that he would be going nowhere unless it was made clear he was no longer in the club's plans.

Dear Management of City,

I have just seen an interview with Richard Dunne regarding his move to Aston Villa. It seems he never wanted to leave, and was forced out of the club because 'we needed the money'. He wanted to stay and fight for his place, to help us achieve something. He said that he still loves the club, the fans and would want to come back.
All the PR spin in the world doesn't cover the fact that you've just sold a player who wants to play, who is good enough (hence his appearences this season), and understood the soul of the club after been here for 4.5 times the length you have.

Go fuck yourself.

Thanks,
Damocles

Dear Damocles

He wasn't good enough, scored too many own goals, very rarely scored for City, made crucial mistakes that cost us games and could'nt pass the ball to a City shirt. We got twice paid for him he has also been replaced by a player who can play LCH and LB as he is left footed can and does score goals and is in the England squad, Dunne never would have won an England cap if he'd been English. BTW we don't need the money

Sure, he's that poor that he's been playing in front of current flavour-of-the-month Ned Onohua, preseason wonderkid Tal Ben Haim and admittedly injured Vinnie Kompany.

If he's crap, why has he played nearly every game under Hughes? In front of so called 'better' CBs such as Kompany and Onohua?

EDIT : The interview looks like it's up next on SSN

Re: To: City Re: Richard Dunne

Richard Dunne, Nice bloke, Good servant but not right for the next stage, good luck to him but I certainly have no critisism whatsoever of the club over him going.

Re: To: City Re: Richard Dunne

No room for sentiment nowadays.

Dunne wanted first team football however he isn't good enough for a top 4 side. That is our aim.

We would have kept him but he would be on the bench and in 12 months could well be 4th choice behind Ned if he continues his progress.

Suits both the players and the club. Therefore its a good move.

Re: To: City Re: Richard Dunne

we needed the money??????that has to be some
sort of fucking joke

Re: To: City Re: Richard Dunne

He's not good enough for the Carling Cup???
Or to come in as cover for an injured Toure?

Dunne is criminally underrated by some one here. He's had one bad season, and suddenly he's past it. Why don't we ask BlueRipple if one bad season makes a career?

Can understand your emotions mate but sending a letter to the club telling them to go and fuck themselves is a bit over the top don't you think?

Unfortunately we will say goodbye to players that we like over the next 3-4 years because they're no longer good enough, or simply because somebody new is a better option.

We should be thanking the management team for the great signings we've made and not getting too carried away when one of our better servants leaves the club.

BTW - I'm not and never have been a big fan of Dunnie monster, not saying he's the worse player we've had, but surely anybody can see that Toure and Lescott will be better, and personally I'd rather have Ned and Komps as the backups - What's the point on turning down £6 million for somebody who is going to play a handful of games at most.

Agreed whole heartedly mate.

Damocles, yesterday you said Tevez was wank, Today your saying we should have kept Dunne????????? your a joker pal,

Re: To: City Re: Richard Dunne

Right before you start slaging the club off just think off it like this. Richard Dunne has been a legend for this club but he is not good enough to be playing infront of Kolo, Joleon and Nedum so that means he will waste a season sat on the bench. This is a world cup year and i think dunne was just diluding himself that he is better than he actually is at this moment in time. City where right to sell him whether he wanted to go or not it was the best move for him. So dont slag off this club dunne yes we all love you but dont try and kid yourself you are not good enough to catch our team hense why you have been sold to a club with a very poor defence.
