I haven't actually got much power! I just tend to just code things. The reason I've been around so much, is because I spend most of my time clicking refresh so that Skynet can build it's index (it's complicated, but basically, I need to babysit it to make sure the forum doesn't go down. 24 hours a day. For four days. And counting.).
I'm experienced enough as a moderator of forums to seperate modding duties from posting as a user. In fact, recent experience have shown that people are more likely to get away with things when insulting me as I don't want to be seen as someone banning for the sake of it. I've only ever banned one person, and that was entirely necessary because:

a) He wouldn't stop posting threads calling me out
b) He wouldn't stop PMing me abusive stuff
c) He was a user that was previously banned.

I've always said that anybody can either PM me or post in public if they feel I've done something wrong, but need to understand that my opinion as a poster is entirely seperate from the ability to moderate. That doesn't just apply to me, but all of the mods on this forum, and every other forum you visit. Transparency and communication is the key :)

Are you, as someone with the power to ban someone,giving the all clear for people on this forum to say things like "go fuck yourself"?

dont agree with damocles on this thread but that term of pharse you are asking about is used all over this forum,and id say worse in some cases so i think it unfair to challange someone on that instance.

The CoC refers to how posters treat each other, not how posters treat players, or the manager of the club. I'll have to ask Ric, but I presume saying it about somebody who isn't a poster is fine. It's no different from telling Gordon Brown or the Taliban to fuck themselves.

Gordon Brown or the Taliban won't be reading this forum(or will they?)..the chairman has said himself that he reads it,don't you think you're being a touch ungrateful?

I'm been ungrateful to the Chairman because I told the manager to go and fuck himself? I don't understand where you are coming from mate.

He was a decent-ish player who didn't always think before he did things. Knew how to throw himself in front of a ball heading goalwards but no idea what to do when he won the ball (apart from hoof it upfield).

Will we still be talking about him in 30 or 40 years time in the sae way some of remember Bell, Lee, Summerbee, Doyle, Watson, Tueart, Barnes, Owen? I don't think so somehow.

If we have to have won a trophy for him to be a legend then we haven't had one in 30 years! If you have to score the winner then how many defenders actually become legends? Dunne has been committed and POTY 4 times! Average or not he is a Legend in my eyes.

No, you had the opportunity last season, but just cocked it up with some poor performances, own goals, and costing us in the biggest game of the season in the 2nd Leg against Hamburg, with a red card, when we were right on top of them.

Hardly the same is it mate? Mark Hughes would've known a long time ago that Dunne wasn't part of the long term plans. I think he can do the Maths! This IMO isn't personal, just an honest, professional, manager's decision, considering that he wasn't going to be first choice, Hughes would have the ex-club captain and longest serving pro who has lots of allies at the club, not making the bench... This would have been untenable for Dunne, Hughes, the squad and the club. So he was always going to be sold. He plays because he's the captain and both he and the club want to show that he still has something to offer a good team. Villa and others see this so make a reasonable offer and he goes. Simple.

All this about City not needing the money is also ridiculous and short-sighted, do you expect us to keep a "massive" squad and refuse good offers for squad players, on big contracts, at the wrong end of their City careers? Hardly.

It's OK for us to sell players mate, it happens all the time. Just because people aren't upset to see him go doesn't mean they don't respect what he did at the club, and pointing out his flaws is just a way to justify it to ourselves, but that's OK too...

Remember that a "sword" hangs over the King's head at all times, so when it falls it shouldn't be such a surprise, eh? He wouldn't want such a reaction to mar his passing. Celebrate his life but also celebrate the future under the new king.

I love stuff like this. Written to make you think all 10,000 (how near is near anyway?) are coming together. Makes you wonder how many voted for Dunnie for his 4th POS, how many voted for other nominees? Makes you wonder why they voted for someone who was obviously (at least it was obvious to everyone but the OSC) not the best player that season (it was Hart or Petrov). Nothing to do with the purported rebellion in the dressing room against Thaksin, right?

The thread title says "to City" and your opening words say to the management(a chairman would be management too,no?)..if you mean't it for Mark Hughes you should have said Mark Hughes,either way "go fuck yourself" is inappropiate.
