Richard Dunne.

Richard Dunne would not make a good squad player. Good squad players should be steady and dependant and not prone to mistakes.

Show me a defender who doesn't make mistakes? You're underrating Dunne compared to what's out there.

As an example Jamie Carragher has the same number of career own goals (6) but I don't see the scouse fans hounding him out. If you're the last line of defence then the mistakes are part of the territory.

Liability all season? Rubbish, that suggests he's costing us points virtually every game and doesn't say much for Hughes' team selections

Dunney has been an absolute stalwart for our club, but there comes a time when every leader must move on. He's done us proud, but the club have outgrown his abilities and there's no shame in that - his contribution has massively helped to get us to where we are and he should be proud for what he's acheived. We'll always regard him as a true City legend (not necessarily for ability but for commitment) and I wish him well.

And my missus fancies the pants off him so he'll always have someone cheering him on!!!!

Good luck Dunney.

I can only assume that you are either Richard Dunne himself or with it being such a beautiful day you have spent the afternoon in a beer garden!

Dunne is absolute garbage, a professional footballer who cant pass a football! Im not going to go into Dunnes many faults because we all know them but we could find 2 better centre backs in the local Sunday League!

If he is a regular next season we will be no better than this year and Hughes will be looking for a new job by Xmas!

Do you actually believe that or are you just on drugs?

Well put it this way, if Dunne is so good why do we have a young, inexperienced lad in Ned playing next to him who shows him up week in week out?

Everyone has bad games but a bad 18 months is not acceptable. If you think we can afford to go into a new season where the manager has been told that only a top 6 is acceptable without getting in a replacement on the off chance that Dunne will all of a sudden become a good player then I would say that your taking substances that are stronger than anything I am on!

I don't agree he's been poor for 18 months. His inconsistent form this season has partially been caused by the team as a whole being weaker defensively.

So, who should we be signing from the Sunday League? Hope you've passed the names on to Hughes.

Let him ride off into the sunset for one last pay day, he at very least deserves that! I think Sunderland with 'Sir' N Quinn beckons and he will probably give them a decent season or 2...

Personally i have never been his biggest fan (or critic) and have seen him have some awful and brilliant games, more of the latter obviously, But time has come for the big man and it should be no criticism if and when he leaves. he has served us well for the most part and can hold his head high upon departing.

He is not a 'squad player' as some would suggest, thats sentimental BS and the thought of him coming off the bench 'cold' to try and perform at this lofty level, would quite frankly keep me awake at night, so please let us remember all the good thinks and let him leave with his dignity in tact and do a bloody good job elsewhere.....

He may also come back and notch an OG or 2 when he does :-) !!

Thanks Richard - its been a pleasure !!

Gets done by pace, hates it when attackers can match up to him with muscle and in the air, Richard "Hoof it and hope" Dunne's time is up at the club and it's time we bought a top centre-back in the summer.

Stevie for captain, used to like him. But just ran out of patience with him, he can have a world class performance one week and then completely lose it for the next 4 games. I still blame him for the UEFA cup exit. Well done for everything hes done and that but times up Dunney.

I blame micah for being such a fairy in the first leg.
