Richard dunne

I agree with most everything you say Mr Rich, but for one point.I believe Dunne is a winner. You could see by the way he organized the back four, and put his body on the line in crunching tackles for the cause, that cant be faked.I believe the City playing staff he inherited as captain werent winners. He was a few years premature for the blues time scale, both personally and in the scheme of things.

I see your point of view, and agree with you in the fact that he was a winner on the field, with his attitude, but he did not have the mentality to drive that forward when off the pitch, he doesn't have that cockness and swagger you need to portray to be at the top of the game, he is too much of a straight guy for that. Dunne sees the football match as a game, not an oppurtunity to strive for further things, and the seriousness that is needed to be at the top and respected among the best. Similar to Nedum, he's smart enough to know 'I want to win' but not too much of a dick (pardon my French) too step on anyone or anything that gets in his way. Once these people get to the top (captain), it slows down the progress of the team if they are not a good enough to carry through with their responsibility Dunne was good enough for the previous teams, which required much less responsibility and pressure, (just to point out I'd think Nedum would be a great captain but whether that respect would be there from other players remains to be seen). Also in my opinion Dunne was not a good captain because he never really rallied the troop or knew the game beyond his responsibilities, notice how Toure will pat those on the back and shout much more.

Some excellent observations on Man Management Mr Rich concerning Dunne.Definetly worth taking on board.

For the most part, he gave his all for the club for nearly 10 years. He was our best player for half of those years.

Mr Rich has his criticisms, which is fine, but Dunnie gave us his best efforts, and that is what you want from a player. If they give all they can, you can't expect anything more, and he could'nt have put in more effort than he did.

Sure, he made mistakes, he was clumsy at times and made some dreadful howlers, but he was always trying his best for the team.

He will go down in the history books as a stirling performer for the club and I will always think of him as a great servant for the club.

We are not like the Arseholes at arsenal we appreciate our players and dunne was good for us once and commited, if you boo him you might as well boo yourself.

I'll be cheering him at villa.

Dunne wasn't good enough for what's out there today, however, he is a solid great fucking player who deserves full applause tomorrow evening, show some class unlike scun and arsoles. He was a true blue.

probably have a stormer, score and get man of the match.

highly unlikely, Ade will batter him.

more chance of an OG, giving away a penalty followed by being sent off.
