Richard Dunne

Pleased for him but he was a bombscare.
Hadn't heard that one before (must get out more!) but it is a pretty good description. Certainly of his last season with us. The previous few seasons he was absolutely colossal for us and was player of the season for 4 (?) consecutive seasons. In that last season though you were always watching him and wondering if he was going to do something silly. Didn't manage to catch the game today (work) but he was a giant in the Irish defence apparently. Well done RD and all the best for the future.

Dunne always excelled in games when under the cosh
for long periods. That's his forte.
We've moved up a notch.
Whilst i wish him well i wouldn't swap
him for any of our current centre halves.

I did twig the username but, being the generous (read naive!) soul that I am, I was prepared to give the dirty hun the benefit of the doubt!

I loved Dunne, but I think this is true.

Similar to why some keepers don't get to the very top, great when they are constantly involved, but minds can drift when not much to do and the get caught flat footed.

This is why Hart is a top class keeper/player, can have nothing to do all game, but is still aware and able to pull off quality saves ie Liverpool at home last year when we won 3-0, FA cup final against Stoke and many more.
